Blair's Pov
“Oh, honey.” She planted kisses on my head as she patted me slowly on the back. “Just know that I love you and I will always, always be here when you need me.”
I let myself cry for what felt like an eternity, and Mum just let me cry, not saying another word. I couldn't be more grateful for that.
“Listen,” she said after I had calmed down, cupping my face. “We should go out, you, you, Valor, and the rest of the family, to get your mind off things. You've been through a lot these past few weeks, and I think a break is just what you need.”
I nodded, and she kissed me one last time on the forehead before leaving me alone to get some rest.
After the door closed behind her, I lay in the dark, staring at the ceiling. Her words still echoed in my head.
