CHAPTER 8: IT’S A ROCKY ROAD PARADISE

3025 Words
Saying that Saber was nervous was an understatement, he was freaking out to say so at least. After Oliver went home from their house, he instantly went to take a shower and pick out his best clothes. He had a plan for today and he wants everything to be perfect. He needs to do this right if he ever wants a chance. His father greeted him good morning as soon as he flops down on the sit in the kitchen island. "Dad, can I ask a favor?" Saber questioned his father while eating his bacon. "What?" His father answered eating his breakfast as well. "Can I borrow the car today?" he asked and took a swig of the liquid in the bottle that his dad got him yesterday. "This tastes like shit." he groaned after swallowing. His dad just chuckles at his misery. Saber just pull his tongue out like a child at his father which caused another wave of chuckles. "Sure you can borrow the car. I can take the bus today to go to work." Saber mumbled thanks in between shoving pieces of bacon in his mouth. He likes the taste of bacon but it is not as satisfying as Oliver. As if on cue, his stomach grumbled at the thought of Oliver's taste in his mouth. He's been eating his food quite generously but still, he can't help the reaction of his body when he thinks of the boy. Then after a few seconds a shiver down his spine when he recalled what he did to that boy on his first day. Damn, he can remember the way Oliver's body moves and the sounds coming from his lips. He tried to think of dog poop, lots and lots of dog poop, to get his mind out of the gutter or he will be hungry for the whole day as well as hard. "Just wanna ask what do you need the car for today?" His dad asked him when he was about to leave. "I just have something planned to do with Oliver today." He said then shouted a goodbye before his father can question him more. He was humming happily as he drives. He recounts everything that he needed to do and made a mental checklist of that. When he arrived at school he was lucky enough to find a great spot to park. A series of good mornings greeted him as he makes his way inside the school. It doesn't really surprise Saber that much that he was popular instantly even though he was just moved here a week ago. It is just his charms. He chuckled quietly as he thought of that. It will be great if he could use whatever charm that is to win Oliver. After getting his books in his locker and answering some questions regarding his fainting incident, Saber is now happily trudging his way towards his first class. He was so excited to see Oliver again although he just saw the boy this morning. Then he remembered the way Oliver felt in his arms as they sleep together in his bed. It was the greatest sleep he ever had. He silently wishes that it was not the last because he wanted to feel Oliver in his arms again. 'Damn, I am getting all mushy and romantic.' Saber mused but shrugs the thought away. His father was right when he told him that he was soft inside when he was fourteen after taking care of a child that was lost in the park until they found her parents. All thoughts left Saber as a smile broke on his face. He saw the boy that has been occupying his mind all morning standing outside their first period. He slowly approached Oliver and when he saw the boy reaching out his hand to grab the doorknob he beat him to it and greeted Oliver before opening the door. It seems like Saber caught Oliver off guard because he looked like he was rooted on the spot. He smiled at that. It's kinda nice to see that he have some effect on the boy. Saber kept on staring at Oliver the whole time during their History class but the boy's attention was glued to the teacher in front. From time to time he can see that Oliver is looking at him from the corner of his eyes but when he saw that Saber is still looking at him he quickly looks back to the front. This made Saber smile even more. He was about to approach Oliver to perform his plan when the bell rang but before he can even utter a word Oliver was already out of the door running like he was being chased by rabid dogs. It hurt Saber a little but he was determined and he will never give up. **** Saber skipped his fourth period to look for Oliver. He didn't know what class Oliver had and he needed to talk to that boy so badly, so he thought that before lunch will be great. 'Now where could he be?' Saber asked himself while looking at every classroom door while making sure that he won't get caught by a teacher. After looking for thirty minutes he found Oliver inside Mr. Cornwell's classroom. After waiting for about half an hour the bell rang signaling lunch. Immediately the halls were filled with students. When he saw that Oliver is looking his way, Saber smiled and waved at the boy. He didn't notice the girls giggling and talking to him. His eyes are only trained at the aromatic boy in front of him. He can see the shock on Oliver's face then a blush that made Saber smirked a little. He liked seeing him blush whenever Sabe made a move. He might have pushed a couple of girls out of his way when he saw that Oliver is trying to sneak out. The boy may think he was being discreet about it but he was way too obvious for Saber. "Where do you think you're going Oli?" Saber asked him when he caught Oliver's arm. The whole room feels silent. He didn't pay attention to the other occupants of the room. Saber won't care if he'll be the talk of the whole school. They can do whatever they want but he needed to do his plan. "To lunch?" Oliver answered Saber but it came out more of a question. Saber just smirked at the boy's blushing form. It was adorable. "I just want to ask you something." "W-what?" Oliver stuttered and that just made Saber's smirked larger until he remembered what he wanted to ask. Saber rubbed his free hand on the back of his neck. He is nervous. He never did anything like this before but he can't back out. "Will you go on a date with me?" Saber asked. He can feel his face getting hot. "Uhm..." Saber heard from Oliver. He looked at the boy and see the look of shock on his face. 'Well, it is not every day someone asks him for a date. And it's me a boy and I may or may have not molested him the first time we met.' He argued in his mind. Because of his mental argument, he didn't notice that his grip on Oliver's hand loosened. He snatched it away from him and mumbled a quick 'gotta go' and before running away from Saber. 'Damn.' He cursed. 'This running away from me is getting more frequent than I like.' He runs after Oliver. He can see that the boy is getting exhausted so he willed his legs to run faster. Just as Oliver opened the cafeteria Saber manage to block him from getting away. "Don't run away, please." Saber said to Oliver after catching his breath. He almost didn't recognize his voice. He was pleading. He smiled when Oliver nodded his head. "So, about my question before." He asked. Saber can see Oliver's eyes darting around the room but he didn't care about the audience. He can sense Oliver's hesitance so he spoke again. "Please, please, please go on a date with me. I'll even kneel to show you how sincere I am and how sorry I was from before." Oliver's eyes widen at what Saber declared. That will be a show for the whole student body but Saber didn't care. He wanted, no, he needed Oliver to agree. So he began descending to his knees. He was almost on the floor when he felt Oliver's hand on his arms hoisting him up. "Don't do that." Oliver pleaded. "So will you accept?" Saber smiled shyly at Oliver. He can't believe that this is the time that he is getting shy after all that he said and almost kneeling on the floor. He can feel the nervousness coming back to him. Saber is just barely stopping himself to tap his foot loudly – a habit that he does when he is nervous. When he heard a quiet 'fine' from Oliver, he can't help but kissed Oliver's cheeks before bolting out of the cafeteria shouting 'Yes'. 'Now to make that date memorable and perfect.' **** Saber will sure get an earful from his dad after this day but he didn't care. He skipped his afternoon classes to get everything that he needs. After checking out all of the things in his mental checklist the only thing that he needed to do is get his date. This may look like an impromptu date for Oliver but Saber just can't wait any longer and let Oliver change his mind, so after getting everything ready he got back to school and waited for Oliver to come out. It only took a couple of minutes and Saber can see Oliver coming out of the school. He chuckled when he saw that Oliver's face is so red from blushing but that quickly turned into a frown when he saw the girl from the cafeteria before clinging on Oliver's arm. He slowly approached the couple. "Hey." He greeted. The girl slowly looked at him from head to toe. Looking at her closely he recognized her as a classmate in some of his class but never really talked to her. "You." The girl pointed a finger in Saber's direction. "Make sure to take care of my boy here and don't hurt him okay? Be sure to get him back at his house at 11 pm. Do you understand?" A nod is the only thing Saber can do. The girl scared her. "Yana!" He heard Oliver whine after the girl's speech. So her name is Yana. "What? I'm just looking out for you as your best friend. I may not know that you were gay until earlier at lunch but I am all support! Just promise to tell me all the details later." Oliver looked horrified at what Yana said and groaned at his friend. Saber can't help the chuckle that escaped his lips – one, because of what Yana said and two because she is just Oliver's best friend and nothing more. The pair looked at him quizzically but just shrugs it off after. "So are you ready?" He asked Oliver. "Uhm... Saber maybe this is not a goo... – ah!" Saber's smile faltered when he heard the first part of Oliver's answer but it was wiped away when Yana pushed his friend towards him. "Stop being a wuss Oli and just go on a date with the boy. I'll even cover you for your mom so just go." Yana said then turned towards Saber. "Remember what we talked about." Saber just smiled at her and said a quick thank you before pulling Oliver towards his dad's car. **** They've been traveling for about twenty minutes but still, no words have been exchanged between the two. It was awkward. Saber decided to start a conversation. "So, what is your favorite food?" Oliver looked at him like he's talking gibberish. "Really you want to start with that?" "What? It's a great question and I want to know." Oliver just sighed and answered. "Spaghetti." At first, it was just Saber asking questions about Oliver but after a while, the boy was asking questions back. In just a matter of minutes, they are laughing and getting to know each other. "So where are we going?" Oliver asked. "We've been on this rocky road for about half an hour and my butt is starting to hurt." "You'll see in just a few more minutes." Saber said and true to his words a couple of minutes later they arrived at their destination. He can hear the awe in Oliver's voice as he took in the surroundings. They are in a clearing near the edge of town. There are trees surrounding the area and a mountain on the left side of the area. "How'd you find this? I've been here all my life but I've never seen this before. It's beautiful." Oliver said while looking around. "I've searched for a perfect date location yesterday evening when you were sleeping and I've come across a picture of this. I knew you'll like it so here we are." He saw Oliver blushed at what he said and he smiled. "I'll just get some things in the trunk." After getting the picnic basket in the trunk, he pulled on Oliver's hand. He stopped in front of a magnificent oak tree and decided that it was a perfect place to set up. Saber pulled the cloth in the basket and laid it on the grass before pulling Oliver to sit down. "I think my instinct is great because I bought spaghetti earlier for us to eat here," Saber announced while pulling out two plastic containers and gave Oliver one. "Thanks," Oliver answered and took a taste. "Sorry if this is just diner food. I promise you next time I'll cook for you." Saber promised. It was a clichéd date, Saber knew that, but he wanted something simple but will leave a mark on both of them. He is sure that this place will be dear to them for a very very long time. **** The sun already set and Saber and Oliver are sitting inside Saber's car with the roof down and seats pulled just a little. They've been stargazing. The night is clear from any clouds and you can see the shine of the stars without the lights of the city. It was peaceful. They've been talking for hours, just getting comfortable and getting to know each other. Saber was happy that he can see Oliver smile and talk to him freely. This time he didn't mind the hunger even if he can smell the aroma of Oliver more because of their close proximity. But they are getting along great and he doesn't want to ruin the moment. He looked at his side and gazed at Oliver. The boy was smiling brightly and quietly looking at the star. He caught a whiff of Oliver's delicious smell when the wind blew. He took a deep breath of it and savor it. It was sweet and alluring at the same time. When Saber opened his eyes, Oliver was looking directly at him. Both of them didn't know what happened but in an instant, their lips met halfway. Saber can feel the softness of Oliver's lips pressed on his. It stayed like that for a couple of seconds before Saber tested the waters and slowly moved his lips against Oliver. He was shocked but glad when he heard a whimper from the boy before kissing him back. The kiss was sweet and innocent. It's like a thank you for both of them. They pulled away from each other after a couple of minutes. They gazed into each other's eyes looking for anything in them. Saber can't help but let out a silent groan when he saw a hint of lust in Oliver's eyes. It was not that noticeable but it was there. It was sweet torture. He can smell the breath of Oliver in front of him – it was intoxicating. And before he can even think of anything else he pressed his lips back on Oliver's but this time it was not as innocent as the one before. It was intense and passionate. He was licking and nibbling at Oliver's lower lip. He lost it when he heard a muffled moan from Oliver. He grabbed the boy's waist and dragged him on his lap. His left hand stayed on Oliver's waist while his right gripped his neck. He bit a little harder on Oliver's lip until the boy surrendered and opened his mouth for Saber's demanding tongue. Electrified. Saber felt like he's been zapped by lightning when the taste of Oliver invaded his taste bud. It was heaven. Their tongues are fighting for dominance but Oliver soon gave up and just let Saber's tongue roamed the cavern of his mouth like the first time they kissed. Saber savored every taste he can have of Oliver. It is the first time after four days that he tastes something again and not just the bland food that his father brought home. But most importantly the feeling that he is having while kissing Oliver is beyond his wildest imagination. Oliver's hand was softly tugging on Saber's blonde hair earning a growl from him and deepened the kiss. When Oliver moved a little on his lap he can't help but grind his hip against the boy. It earned him a whimper from Oliver while Saber's mouth attached itself to Oliver's neck and began sucking and licking it. Their hips continue to grind slowly and Saber can feel both of them getting excited from their heated make-out. His mouth captured anything that he can from Oliver – every sound taste and feel. He didn't even notice that his hands are already inside the shirt of Oliver. After a few more kissing, licking, and grinding, they separated from each other. Both of them were breathless from what happened but neither made a move but continued to gaze at each other's eyes.
