Alpha Jessie's surprise mate

Chapter 22

*Regina pov*

I never expected her to accept my challenge, I never expected Jessie to allow it either. Im going to slaughter her, and I will be hated for a short time here before everyone forgets about lacey and realizes that I'm the true luna material.

Me and Lacey began circling each other but I'm going to make the first move, it won't take long to finish this anyways, might as well get it over with quickly.

*Lacy pov*

I can tell by her eyes she's going to make the first move and I'm waiting for it.

Regina jumps and I let her tackle me she punches me twice and I don't even try to block she gets up and kicks me in the ribs a couple times and then I get up, I act like I'm dazed, and I stumble a little. I go for her sloppily and act like I try to punch her but intentionally miss.

Regina begins laughing so I start laughing too.

"Are we done playing now? I ask Regina. She looks around confused but says "give me your best shot then!"

"Shift Now" I command. As I notice she's beginning I also shift and the gasps we hear from the crowd are fitting.

Regina is visibly shaking and she's shocked to see that I'm not the weak little human she thought I was. aliyah is doing her worst, pacing back and forth and snarling waiting for a movie from Regina. When she won't come any closer aliyah snaps at her legs a couple times to try to motivate her but she is still crouched over in the corner shaking.

"you wanted the challenge Regina now fight or submit" Jessie commands.

But Regina is too prideful to submit.

She lunges at me while she thinks I'm not paying attention but I turn quick enough to bite down on her leg and sling her a far distance. She yelps in pain but jumps back up, we circle each other again and she lunges again. This time she goes for my ribs so I bite down on her snout and shake violently, she yelps and tries to pull away. Finally I'm done playing she lunges at me one last time and I grab her by the neck, it wouldn't take much to kill Regina right now. But I'll give her the oppurtunity to submit.

"you have until the count of 3 to submit or continue Regina" Jessie yells

"1.....2...."

"I submit. I'm done" Regina yells. I drop her and aliyah lunges and snaps in her face one last time to scare the s**t out of her.

I stay in wolf form waiting for my mate to bring me a robe so I'm not naked infront of all of these pack members.

Jessie rushes over to me with the robe and I quickly throw it on and march over to Regina.

"Are you done with the f*****g insults yet Regina?"

"I'm done..." Regina says with her head bowed slightly.

I will come up with a clever punishment for her later.

For now I reach down and grab her hand to help her up. She has made me miserable for the last couple of months, But I can forgive and move on. It's time to enjoy my mates birthday party.

I still feel really awkward here and I don't know anyone, but this is my home now so I need to try to get adjusted as quickly as possible.

Me and Jessie walk back into the party when another she-wolf approaches.

"Hello luna lacey. I'm aware you know me from school, But my name is Lindsey, I know I haven't always been the friendliest to you, but I'd like to turn a new leaf with you, and uhm, here is an outfit for you if you don't wanna walk around in a robe for the rest of the night." she says slightly smilling while extending her hand to give me a black dress.

I smile at her "Thank you Lindsey, the past is the past." I say and take the dress from her.

I turn to kiss my mate on the cheek, "I'll be right back alpha, I'm going to change really quick" I say with a wink.

Jessie's eyes flash black for a moment and he grabs my arm and pulls me in for an actual kiss, the way he makes my whole body tingle with a single kiss amazes me. I walk away smiling to find the bathroom.

I quickly changed and returned to the party. I see my mate chatting with a couple men I know are pack warriors, so I take this oppurtunity to grab us a couple drug-free drinks.

I walk up to the bartender and ask her for 2 jack and cokes. "Hey Luna, of course." the bartender smiles as she quickly makes two drinks. "Here you go, these are xanax and wolvesbane free." the girl says with a small smile as she hands the drinks over. I let out a small giggle and take the drinks to go find Jessie.

"Hey little mate, thank you." Jessie says as he takes a sip.

"Jack and coke, nice choice, what do you have?" Jessie asks me

"The same as you." I respond while taking a sip of mine.

"You drink jack and coke?" Jessie responds surprised. "I have so much to learn about you" he says and smiles.

"Babe, I haven't seen Wade or amanda since earlier" I exclaimed and realization hit Jessie that he hadn't either.

I watch Jessie's eyes glaze over for a moment, "I just thought about the fact that I haven't either, I just mindlinked Wade, Him and amanda are on their way here now, he says he has some news for me." he says looking concerned.

"I'm pretty sure I already know what it is. Take it easy on him please." I respond and he gives me a curious look.

My favorite slow song comes on and it seems like Jessie knows I want to dance.

"Dance with me little mate?" Jessie asks with his hand out for me to take.

We move to the dance floor and people give us our space. We stand close, with our bodies touching, I can't reach my arms around Jessie's neck so I decide to hook them under his arms and just place them on his shoulder blades. I rested my head low on his chest, Jessie leans down a little so he can place kisses on my forehead. We dance through the song and I am finally realizing what happiness is all about. Just being close to my mate took all of my worries away.

"This is the best birthday ever, all thanks to you Lacey." Jessie says to me smiling.

But I feel guilty. I shoot Jessie a small smile and he instantly realizes something is wrong.

"What is it babe? why are you upset?" Jessie asks

"I'm not upset Jessie, I just feel a little guilty, because it is your birthday, and we have spent all day concerning ourselves with my past, and you have had to help me because of how upset I was." I say looking downwards.

Jessie grabs my chin and moves my face upwards so that I am looking at him.

"Do not feel guilty. I have found my mate that I didn't believe existed, I have also discovered that my mate and her family fit into my family perfectly before I even realized she existed, my mother was the first person to hold you, she even gave you life by cutting your cord, I discovered not only is my mate strong and the most beautiful person I've ever seen but she has a mighty wolf with special abilities and a specific purpose to protect my mate at all costs. I'm the happiest man on the planet right now." Jessie smiles and I move quickly to kiss him with the most passionate kiss I can give him

"I beg to differ, Alpha, Luna." Wade says with a small smile.

"Where have you guys been?" I ask

Wade reaches up grabbing the back of his neck while peering at his alpha. very visibly nervous.

"Alpha. I have some news. But I need you to promise not to kill me first." Wade exclaims.

"Well spit it out Wade, way to keep the suspense going. You're my beta and I kinda need you, So killing you isn't an option I don't think." Jessie says smiling.

"Me and Amanda are mates" wade blurts out and squints his eyes waiting on Jessie's response.

I look at Jessie trying to read his face and I can tell he is upset.
