Alpha Jessie's surprise mate

Chapter 13

*Jessie's pov*

I'm thrilled to be able to introduce my mate to her new pack where she will become luna and live our days out happily together. I know there is more to my mates history than we have discussed so far, and I know once the entire pack finds out about my mate and her parents they will be honored to have her as their luna.

I can't help but smile the biggest smile at my pack that is cheering for their new found luna. They already love her, it makes it even more clear she is a natural. I'm proud that my mate didn't end up being one of the power hungry she-wolves that thrive for excessive attention, and her hesitation to take my card to shop was proof that she wasn't power searching or money hungry. I do hope she loosens up with me and allows me to take care of her though.

I'm enjoying the moment my pack is having admiring their new luna. When I look back at lacy she has made eye contact with a particular she-wolf standing in the front row with her arms crossed and she is seriously giving my mate the death stare, I honestly should have saw this coming. But I will handle it.

"Does anyone have any questions they would like to ask?" I wait. expecting that b***h Janet up front to speak up and she did

Janet- "I have a question alpha. I go to school with lacey, and I'm aware of how easily she is picked on and bullied by some of the other students in class, do you think it might be an accident on the moon goddesses part that she mated you with her?" she asks with a smirk on her face but before I am able to speak lacey responds.

Lacey- "Janet I was sure you would have something to say. Weak is not quite the term I would use for myself, I choose not to stoop down to the immature level that you and your friends are on and that's why I dont partake in the nonsense drama you and your friends cause. Quite frankly, you, Regina, and that other girl who's name i can't even remember, are all bark and no bite. literally. So I wouldn't say it's a mistake. I would say the moon goddess paired us together perfectly, giving my mate a mature and respectful and strong woman beside him so he could further improve, expand, and better his pack diplomatically rather than putting more people in harms way."

Okay I know for a fact my mouth is hanging open, what happened to my quiet mate? I know she just got her wolf and is hearing her wolf now, but she usually would have smiled and let me answer the question. I am loving this new side of lacey. Everybody cheered for laceys response but now it's my turn to speak.

"Janet it appears you are now on cleaning duty, and server duty for my mate for atleast the next month until you learn to respect your future luna and my Mate, another mess up and you will be banished. Everybody here is aware that I don't tolerate disrespect ESPECIALLY not to my luna, do you hear me? he growls so loud that everybody bows and now Janet is crying. "yes" Janet whispers "I'm sorry luna lacey" she says. Lacey only looks at her and gives her a small nod in recognition of the apology.

"that is all, we will update you all on laceys luna ceremony as soon as we are aware of the date and time, thank you everyone" I say and grab my mates hand to exit the platform.

At the bottom of the stairs my mates best friend and my beta are waiting. I know this day is only going to get more difficult for lacey, but I hope when it's all over it's worth it for her, tonight is also a full moon and I'm really hoping she has more time to adjust to her new life before she shifts for the first time.

lacey is sending me concerned glances because she can tell I'm worried. I'm trying not to be but she has endured a lot over the last 2 days and she just keeps on pushing like nothing happened.

"you and amanda go shopping babe, I have 2 pack warriors escorting you, they will stay nearby and keep a close eye on you while you're out" I tell her. "but why do they have to take us?" she asks looking confused. I can tell she isn't too fond of leaving with 2 strange men that she's never met before. I mindlink the warriors to come see me immediately, in about 2 minutes Jake and Sam are standing in front of me. "lacey this is Jake and Sam. they will be your personal body guards and will escort you when I'm attending to other matters" he says. "you do realize that me and Amanda made it on our own before before all of this right?" she asks with an amused tone. I smile because my mate is coming out of her shell and I'm loving it. "I realize that Love, but I also just named you future luna infront of the whole pack. and word travels ridiculously fast around here, unfortunately that title alone can put a target on you, someone could use you to weaken me because I wouldn't live if something happened to you" I responded. I can tell by her expression that she had a change of heart and was willing to accept the body guards.

"Hey Jake, hey Sam, I'm lacey, it's nice to meet you, I am supposed to be going shopping and you are supposed to be coming with me, are you ready now or do you need to finish anything up first? lacey asked them.

They seemed amazed that lacey even cared if they were busy or not. "no luna we are ready now" they responded.

I watched her climb into the car and pull away with Amanda and Jake and Sam.

Now to get ready for the more difficult part of this whole ordeal, my parents and their news for lacy. I knew it would hurt her, and probably scare her. My little mate had no idea just how important she was.

I will be waiting for my parents to arrive and trying to prepare things around the packhouse to better accommodate lacey while she's gone. I just hope she has a good time.
