Chapter 19

*Jessie Pov*

Aliyah is so beautiful, I love her already. She is powerful, She is fast and playful, she is perfect for us" Roman says to me as we run through the forest chasing her.

aliyah comes to a halt at the waterfall deep into the woods, she sits at the edge of the water, aliyah let's out a painful howl and tears that were built up In her eyes begin shedding quickly.

A moment passes when we hear a series of howls coming from the packhouse, they know our luna is hurting, they are letting her know that they are all there for her.

Roman was scared to approach her at first, but he knows his mate needs him now more than ever, he hovers over her and she lays down for him to cuddle next to her for a moment. They lay there until the bond has almost replenished aliyahs broken heart from the trauma and aliyah sits back up

Aliyah to roman: "We need to go back, she needs to hear the rest and you do too"

Roman to aliyah: "okay little mate, let's head back then"

aliyahs mood is much better on the way back. she is quickly running around dodging trees and trying to trick me so I can't catch her. when finally I trip up her leg just enough for her to roll a few times landing on the ground but she doesn't get up and panic courses through Roman. Right as he's running up to check on her she paws him in the face playfully and jumps back up to run again. Roman stands there shocked for a moment that she so easily tricked him. Now he's amused and really wants to catch her. He watched aliyah running through the straight stretch of trees and decided to play a trick on her instead. he darts into the woods and runs beside aliyah where she can't see him. he watches aliyah glancing behind her and noticing Roman is no longer following her, she continues to run at a lower speed because she knows I'm playing her somehow. Roman uses her turning around to look for him as a perfect time to run infront of her and aliyah smacks straight into him tackling him to the ground. They roll and playfully fight on the ground for a moment before they decide its time to shift back.

*Laceys pov*

I can't stop laughing, the first time I've ever shifted was amazing. I got to play with my mate, and he actually fell for our trick. I haven't had that much fun in a long time. Me and Jessie are both in hysterics when I look down and realize I am naked I am instantly horrified. I run into the woods and my Mate follows me. "You didn't wonder why there are clothes hanging in almost all of the trees?" he asks giggling as I hide behind a tree. "I actually didn't think it through at all and didn't know I would even be shifting anytime soon." I respond as I'm grabbing for clothes that I can't reach. My mate comes over to reach them for me as looks down at my naked bosy with a lust fueled gaze. "You're so f*****g perfect lacey" Jessie says

I swallow really hard knowing I won't be able to control myself if we don't get covered up quickly. Jessie looks at me with a knowing smirk on his face and then looks at the clothes in his hand. "Are these what your reaching for little mate?" he asks, still smirking at me. "Give me the clothes Jessie" I say trying so hard not to laugh. "hmmm, okay but you gotta kiss me first." he claims. I reach up to his face and kiss him, I put all my love and affection into that single kiss and he lowers the clothes so I can reach them.

"Let's go inside little luna" Jessie says. That brings a huge smile to my face. We step out of the clearing and a lot of pack members are still out back standing around, it looks like they are waiting for us to come back. Michelle and James are also waiting. As we approach a pack member known as Joseph speaks up, I recognize him as Jessie's head warrior. "Alpha, Luna, as pack members to the best pack alive we want to tell you we are here for whatever you may be going through. We would like for you to speed up the luna process so we can help carry her weight until she is better." he says. I hear multiple other members agree, but I don't understand. "I know you may not understand what I mean Luna, Alpha can explain to you, But I haven't heard a Howl that was that pained in a while and we want to help you." he says and everybody bows. Jessie grabs the man by the shoulder "I will explain what you are proposing to her later, there is a reason you are my lead warrior and such a trusted member, Good man" Jessie says as he slaps Joseph's back and gives him the biggest bro hug I've ever seen. I nod at everyone as Jessie, his parents, and me head back up to the office.

"I guess we should get back to the story then right? I heard you kids are having a crazy birthday party for my son in the event hall tonight and we don't want to hold you up." michelle says.

I grab her hand that's rested on the table "take your time, I know this is painful for you too" I say and I release her to sit back, my action made her teary eyed.

"Once we realized your mom was no longer in the underground bunker I tried to mindlink her again. "we came for you, it smells like you were just here but you're not now, where are you? we know Armando has you." I said and I waited. when i started losing hope that she would respond she mindlinked me again "michelle, I have to mindlink when he isn't looking, he doesn't realize that wolvesbane doesn't work on me, but I think I'm in labor. I need help now, I could easily break these chains because the medicine he is giving me isn't working to weaken my wolf but I'm in a lot of pain from the labor. please get here quick, I will stop talking so Denali can send you my location, she says she can." Dianna said. I was astonished to say the absolute least when a vision of a map had appeared in my head. Using another paper map in front of me I marked out the key areas that were on the original map only I could see. I made a few paper copies and handed them out to all 5 teams that would be going with us to get her. The rescue mission was easy and quick, Armando had no back up because he didn't believe Dianna would be able to tell us where she was, Dianna played it off perfectly and acted like the wolvesbane was working on her, even though it wasn't and she was in a tremendous amount of pain. Armando was arrested and put into the cells to determine his punishment but before they took him away Dianna talked to everyone, Armando included "No one will gravely harm him, I will be the one to decide and execute his punishment and that is an order, am I clear?" she asked and we all nodded in understanding. He had killed her mate, Kidnapped her, chained her up while she was in labor and almost r***d her, obviously she wanted to be the one to hand him his punishment and we all understood and agreed. She endured the pain of losing a mate and labor at the same time and still managed to come up with a plan to help us rescue her." michelle stops speaking for a moment and let's out a small sob. I look at her sympathetically

"you don't have to finish if you don't want to" I say.

"no lacey we have came this far we are finishing, you need to know everything." michelle says.
