AVA’S POV
As serene as a dove, I offered a faint smile to Alpha Quinn and behaved as though I were oblivious to how he brushed me aside and strode to the bed; evidently ignoring my existence.
Lying on the bed, I turned toward him and extended my hand, attempting to caress his muscles. I inched closer and placed my hand on him; in a bid to snuggle with him.
He gently pushed it away. “Ava, I’m not in the best of moods.”
I knelt on the bed, turning him to face me. “I understand, love, but I just want to hold you. Is that too much to ask?”
Upon finishing my statement, Alpha Quinn turned to the opposite side of the bed, dismissing my question. Suppressing my frustration, I lay down silently.
Hours later, I heard the faint sound of our alarm near my door. Consequently, my eyes turned bloodshot, ready for the good news from my subordinates.
I rose, glanced at Alpha Quinn, and teleported from the room to the rooftop. There, six Lycans stood, awaiting my arrival.
I approached them with confidence. “How is our plan progressing, Carlo?”
He bowed slightly and responded, “I’ve assembled all the Lycans in the army, including the Archer and the Gamma.”
Standing with my hands akimbo, I scanned each of them. “Well done, Carlo. And you, Marcus? What progress have you made so far?”
“Me and the distant Lycans have successfully allied with the rogues.”
His answer left me annoyed and apparently piqued. “Is that all? Do you truly consider that an accomplishment? Do we clap and congratulate you for this dumb news of yours?”
I shouted angrily, “Does anyone else have better news? Something significant and convincing—not this disappointment Marcus has brought me?”
Marx suddenly raised his hand. “Yes, go on.” I replied with renewed hope.
“My girlfriend managed to infect a significant number of women and children in the hospital. Many of them are now Lycans.”
A wide grin spread across my face. “This is extraordinary! Remarkable! The moment has come for us to seize this pack piece by piece. Gradually, we will become the strongest Lycan pack and conquer the others.”
I clasp my hands behind my back and begin circling them. "Our next mission is to kill Alpha Quinn and his father, Ares. After that, we'll subdue the remaining werewolves and convert them into Lycan's. We'll also take full control of Nexoria and aim to become business partners with the Deadly Howler's Pack.""
"During my reign , dark magic will thrive, and the Lycan race will be revered. I have so much in store for all of you, but one thing brothers me and is of great concern to me"
I pause, letting my expression darken, Carlo is the first to break the silence, "What troubles you, Queen Ava? How do we come in?"
I glare at the six of them with a sinister look. "Lycan's are known for breaking trust and turning against their so-called allies. I've witnessed it countless times. What makes this situation any different?"
Carlo stiffens and exchanges glances with the others. When no one steps forward, he decides to speak.
"Queen Ava, our allegiance belongs to you. Because of you, our race received a second chance. You gave us life again; you saved us from extinction, and for that, we owe you everything. That's why we're here-- fighting with our sweat and blood, and doing whatever it takes to make your dreams a reality."
I study him carefully, unmoved by his words. He continues, "I, my brothers, and the rest of our kind will never betray you. You can count on these words."
I nod slightly, accepting his response with partial satisfaction. Suddenly, the full moon shines brilliantly above us. Illuminating the pack, and standing as a reminder to me.
At that moment, a surge of power overwhelms me. I transform repeatedly while keeping my gaze fixed on the moon.
"The time has come! The moment when those who trampled me will hide in terror! Now is the time to get my ultimate revenge. Quinn! Ares! Flint! Watch as I erase your bloodline just as you erased my family!"
Carlo, Marcus, Marx and the others begin tearing off their shirts, transforming into formidable Lycan's.
Covered in thick brown fur, Carlo stands tall like a dominant beast on the verge of madness. His golden eyes reflect only a hint of the intense fright he's capable of releasing.
With their elongated ears, pitch-black noses, and ferocious auras, Carlo and the other Lycan's bare their fangs and roar.
They then surround me, bowing and declaring in unison, "We are at your service, Queen"
Their words ignite a deep fire within me. With my blood-shot eyes, I proclaim, "Find Flint. Hunt him to the ends of the Earth. Bring him to me, along with his father. As for Quinn, I'll kill him myself; and s*******r his cursed council of elders! And anyone who tries to help him, will only end up getting the taste of my fury!"
"Understood ma'am"
Suddenly, I transform back into my human form and turn to leave, when I recalled one last instruction.
"Get the Gamma, the Archer and their men prepared. We'll strike at any moment"
Just then, a noise blared in our ears, "Go, find out who it is"
I stood frozen as Carlo and his men dash towards the stairs to uncover the eavesdropper.
Feeling uneasy and sick of waiting at a spot, I head downstairs and find them standing silently, in a cluster, with their eyes on the door.
Frustrated by the suspense, I demand resolutely, "Well? Who was it? Where is the person?"
I got nothing but more silence and a look of defeat in their eyes.
Having run out of patience, I furiously asked, "Who was the eavesdropper?"
"It was Alpha Quinn."
