Morrison called me before I reached the building where my father was waiting.
"The judge is comprised," I said. "David told me."
"We're going to have him recused. I've already filed with the oversight office." Morrison's voice was clipped. "But recusal takes time and an emergency motion doesn't wait. He could issue a temporary order before we get him removed."
"How temporary."
"Pending full hearing. Could be two weeks, could be six." A pause. "A temporary order restricts Maya's ability to make independent decisions about Aria's movements. School, travel, medical. Everything requires sign off from a court-appointed guardian."
