Hard to get

Diana waited for Apah all evening but he didn't come to the quarters making her have mixed feelings about the situation on the ground. She began to have doubts if she was taken to the right quarters or just a secluded part of the palace because the number of servants and guards she have been seeing reduced drastically immediately she stepped into that quarters. She wondered why. She was shown to a room that was sparely arranged with furniture except for some basics like a big bed and chair and mirror.

"I will need to speak to him about this room whenever he comes she promised herself.

She attempted to take a tour around the quarters but the guards respectfully declined

" My lady, please until the Prince returns you cannot live this room" they had told her

She didn't want to make their jobs difficult on the first day so she accepted their excuse. If her father's palace could not keep her she was very sure it would be the case here.

After waiting hours for Apah to come back without success, Diana slept off in frustration promising to speak her mind whenever she sees him because she didn't understand who would prefer meeting with other people than spending time with his wife.

The next morning she woke up with a cover cloth on her and the room having a warmer feeling. One look at the fireplace and she could tell someone was responsible for the fire in the room. She could also hear sounds coming from the bathroom an indication that someone was inside. She tries to remember if Apah had come back last night but she could remember nothing. He must have slipped in quietly.

Just as she was thinking he came out of the bathroom with nothing on his body making Diana close her eyes immediately with her hands. She might have slept with him but she wasn't used to having a naked man before her.

"Oh you are awake, I thought you would never wake up," He said with a chuckle immediately after he saw her reaction.

"Why not put some clothes on first, then we can talk " Diana replied refusing the temptation to take a look at him.

"But we are married, you are my wife you should get used to this soon " he replied as he found a shorts to put on

"This is a contract marriage remember," She said trying to remind him as she finally removed her hands knowing he had at least put on a short.

'And that my lady is something that should not be heard outside this room" He said coming to take a seat beside her with a serious look on his face this time.

Diana looked at him with a confused look on her face. The way he went from making fun of her to being serious was confusing.

"Yes my lady, no one else can know this is a contract marriage everyone must believe we have known each other for a long secretly and got married recently "

" I don't understand" Is this a secret marriage? Does no one else know about this marriage? Diana asked looking confused wondering what kind of game Apah was playing. Almost everything was being done in secret and disguise and it was beginning to worry her. She hoped she would be safe.

"You will be fine, everything else will make sense to you with time but just know no one can know about the contract our parents signed," he said trying to assure her as he extended his hands to console her with a pat on the hair which she declined immediately.

"The other night you were doing everything to have a feel of my body now you decline my touch. That is interesting " Apah pointed out as he got up to do some push-ups with Diana watching. Diana was dying to have a feel of him again but she was controlling herself as she felt they were more pressing things to address first. Their parents might have been the ones who signed the contract but at least she was going to try to get some fresh terms from him.

"That night was different " she replied to him

"How so?"

She paused for a while to think about her reply. She didn't know how it would sound if she told him she came that day planning to sleep with a random person. He might see her as a w***e

"I don't see you as a w***e" he said as if reading her mind.

" When I penetrated you I knew it was your first time. It must be something you never planned to happen " he said trying to make her understand he wasn't going to judge her by that day

His reply made Diana happy. If that was his thinking she wasn't going to make any effort to tell him the truth then

"You may not have planned the first one but I bet you are having thoughts of having a second one with me right now," he said joining her on the bed with a mischievous smile on his face.

Diana found it difficult to resist his first move as she close her eyes expecting a kiss from him as he moved closer to her onto the bed

" You look more beautiful with your eyes close, but you will have to open them if you want me to kiss you" he teased her

Diana suddenly felt offended she thought he was making fun of her. She quickly came down from the bed

"I have no intention of doing anything with you this morning, let's go back to our discussion " she suddenly said with a frown on her face. Apah's face suddenly lost all smile but she didn't mind, it was her way of getting back to him for time wasting and trying to tease her.

"What do you want to discuss again? He asked in frustration.

" This place, why does it look so scanty? I hardly notice servants here and they are hardly any other furniture here. Is this a hideout or truly your quarters?

"You can arrange the quarters to your taste. Ask the guards to get you anything you want but the number of servants around here can never increase. The lesser people around me the better " he replied this time putting the remainder of his clothes on.

Diana wonder what he met by that statement but she didn't ask further.

"You should get ready, we will be having breakfast with other members of the royal family today " he suddenly announced

"Wait, what? "
