CHAPTER FIVE
Sheriff Black and Deputy Evan follow Robert Smith, out past the store and down the road. Mr. Smith shows them the footprints that appear to be of a woman’s shoe, and how they disappear into the woods. He shows them how the large man’s footprints take the place of that first set, they presumed to belong to Misty. It’s a little harder this second time around, to tell what tracks may actually belong to whom, since he and Chloe have also walked through the area. Now, with the Sheriff and the Deputies' tracks alongside the rest, everyone’s tracks seem to blend together. As they enter the woods to look at the flower print torn cloth and the blood on the ground, the Sheriff stops in his tracks.
