Episode X

"I am Tachibana Sayaka, you need to stop!" 

“What? Say it again honey! That’s funny! Hahahahaha!!!” the female vampire laughed hysterically. “Ooppss, sorry. Do you think saying your name will turn you into something like a super hero?”

“No, of course not that’s so childish. You are part of the Vampire Queen’s government, you know your human counterparts. You’re not ignorant aren’t you?” Sayaka said as she approached Chad and hold on to his hand.

Chad got back to his senses and looked at Sayaka but he too suddenly fainted.

“Ugghh!!! What did you do little girl? I want my meal awake!” she said in a tantrum.

“What? I didn’t do anything. And what meal are you saying? You are not sucking his blood!”

“Aren’t you being so cheeky just because you are one from the founding families?” she said as her eyes turned red. “But hey let me tell you something, you are still just a human.”

“Yes I am and as a representative of the world government, I can sanction you for breaking the rules.”

“What rules? There’s no human rules in a vampire territory honey.”

“The Rules, your Vampire Queen agreed to them.”

“Oh?” she said in a grimacing face as she appeared right on the face of Sayaka.

Sayaka just looked at her confident enough that the charm will protect her.

“You should stop this. You wouldn’t like the consequences.”

“Hahahaha… dead body tell no tales.” She said as she directed her right index finger to Sayaka. Her fingernails extended attempting to pierce through the static field of the charm but it gets turned into dust. “Hmmmmm… that’s quite a handy charm you have there.” She said as she raised her left index and middle finger, then Erin and Isabelle stood up though they are still unconscious.

Sayaka looked surprised and realized that this vampire is a puppeteer. She again realized her naivety, she might be safe but her classmates are not and she cannot possibly hurt them.  She felt clenched her fist in anger but before she can speak the vampire’s head suddenly fell off.

“Ha?” the vampire said in surprise as her head fall off, Erin and Isabelle fall down too.

Sayaka stepped back in horror but a hand grabbed her by the shoulder. She looked up and saw that it was Cloud.

“Cloud?”

“Hmm.” Cloud answered smiling.

“Lord Eh-” the vampire head’s that have rolled on the floor talked.

Cloud snapped his fingers and the head split in two.

“Cloud!” Sayaka exclaimed.

Cloud pushed Sayaka near him and hold on to her shoulder tightly. “The safest place is by my side.” Cloud said through telepathy.

“Apologies Lord Ehrensvard. Was my servant impolite to you to deserve this treatment?”

The Magistrate appeared and retrieved the split head which is now slowly reconnecting itself. Sayaka stood in awe, something she haven’t experienced since meeting Cloud and Henri. He is tall, has blue hair and silver eyes. He is wearing a long black coat lined in with the Vampire Queen’s crest on it.

“Hmmmm..mmm…” Cloud just chuckled. “Shall we go to my office now so that we could talk in private, Magistrate?”

“Pardon my Lord, but do you intend to bring Lady Tachibana in our meeting?”

“Hmmm…you don’t have to worry about unnecessary details.”

“Cloud…” Sayaka whispered in protest.

Cloud looked at Sayaka and winked. He held Sayaka closer and tighter to him. “Just play along.” Cloud communicated through telepathy again.

Cloud led the way to this office by teleporting floor by floor. The Magistrate followed him bringing alongside the split head that is still reconnecting. Upon reaching the main hall they were accompanied by three more vampires that are part of the Magistrate’s company.

At the headmaster’s office

“Apologies for not being able to greet you properly my Lord.” the Magistrate said and he together with his company knelt down. “We greet the great Lord Ehrensvard.”

Cloud just smiled and his eyes turned red seeming to acknowledge the existence of the young noble vampires. He was still holding on to Sayaka and despite her non-verbal protests he would not let her go.

The vampires have now raised from kneeling down and they all awaited for Cloud to sit. Sayaka was mortified. There is only one chair and Cloud would not let her go, what would he do? She looked at up Cloud, but the playful Cloud she saw earlier was no longer there. She can only see a terrifying vampire with round glaring red eyes smiling mockingly. “Sit down Sayaka.” He said through telepathy. Sayaka sat down on Cloud’s chair but he never even in a split second let go of his hand from her.

The vampires except for the Magistrate who looked amused are irritated but did not utter a word. Even if they are from the vampire court, they are still in the territory of one of the most well-known vampire in their history. An ancient one with a blood of high-rank noble who are known to fight toe-in-toe with the living purebloods, the Monarch’s family.  

“Speak.” Cloud said arrogantly.

“My Lord, it has been decades since you’ve had this…activity, called field trip and you have never attended as a chaperone before-”

“I want to see the outside world, the city.” He answered laughing.

“But my Lord, such menial activity doesn’t require your presence.” the Magistrate continued.

“How long do you think I’ve been alive Zeke?”

The Magistrate was surprised that the ancient one knows his name. He looked baffled but also pleased as if he has accomplished something.

“When you reach over 500 years old you do things out of boredom.” Cloud continued.

“I understand my Lord, however, the community due to this short notice doesn’t have the necessary resources to ensure your safety.”

“Hahahahahaha!!!” Cloud laughed loudly. “My safety? I am very disappointed. You should know, not one of you from the East Court is worthy to be my escort.”

“Apologies for my impudence. Lord Ehrensvard, we cannot expose an ancient one like you to unnecessary risks.”

“Yes, you should apologize.” Cloud said as he let out his fangs and pressured the Magistrate using his aura to bow low to him. “I am a vampire who have lived longer than the five of you combined and you dare speak of safety and risks? Do you think I need your permission to get out of this property? These are all just unnecessary paperwork.”

The Magistrate who has been calm the entire time turned his eyes red and let out his aura attempting to break free from Cloud’s pressure. However, he cannot and Cloud made him bow lower every time. The vampires accompanying him all have their eyes turned red and gritting their teeth but they can’t move, no they won’t because they know that if they even move an inch they will be killed. What Cloud is doing might have been a normal treatment of vampires with higher status to the lesser ones but this situation is somewhat different. The Magistrate, who is the head of the East Court is being forced to bow down in front of Cloud, with a human sitting on a chair. What a humiliation the Magistrate and his company is feeling right now.

Sayaka is shocked. This is not what she is expecting based on what Cloud have told her before. Evaluators? They all look like playthings to Cloud. This is madness. How can Cloud do this to the representatives of their Court? Isn’t he afraid to get punishment from the Vampire Queen? Is this how vampires talk?

“We…want to know…the full…details…of the…trip.” the Magistrate said struggling.

Cloud relieved the Magistrate from his aura and smiled. “We have already submitted the necessary papers to your office remember? Unless you have not read a single sheet from it. Don’t you know what a pain it was for me to prepare all those?”

“Apologies my Lord. We have seen it, we have just to confirm it directly from you.”

“Uhh- I don’t want to talk anymore.” Cloud said brushing his hair. “Ah! I have a better idea! Did you bring the papers that we have submitted?”

“Yes my Lord.” the Magistrate answered and signalled to his companion to bring the papers forward.

The vampire was shaking as she approached the table and put on the papers.

Cloud smiled at her and she was even more terrified.

“Ah, young one you don’t need to worry.” Cloud pointed his fingers to the head who have now fully reconnected and said. “You make her read everything in there and I will tell you what’s been changed if there is.”

Sayaka looked at Cloud in disbelief. How barbaric!

The Magistrate didn’t even protest and brought the head on top of the table.

Cloud looked at Sayaka and smiled in contentment.

The Magistrate and his company all averted their eyes away from the table.

“Don’t you think that you should pay attention that what she’s reading is accurate?” Cloud said mockingly. “You need to make sure that everything is in accordance to the paper, right Magistrate?”
