“Are you ready?" I asked Elle with my phone pinched between my ear and shoulder.
“I will be when you get here!" She said.
She sounded like she was shuffling around her apartment. I wasn't used to her being so hasty. She was so cool and rolled with whatever curves life threw her way. If she was taking so much time to get ready, I couldn't wait to see her.
“You don't have to overdress! This café is nice, but it's no five-star restaurant!" I reassured her.
“Oh, I know," Elle brushed my concern aside. “So how are the cats holding up?"
