CHAPTER TWENTY 5:11 p.m. Charleston, South Carolina A young man, well dressed in a blue button-down shirt and slacks, stood close to the helicopter. Too close, as far as James Walter Shouberty was concerned. The young man had brown skin, not James Shouberty’s favorite skin color. The kid held a fat book in his hand, and he read out loud from it.
