“You look haunted.”
She blinked uncomprehending at Amith.
“Uh, you'd better sit down,” Sharif said, indicating a nearby chair.
“It's not a mandala at all,” Jayani said, shaking her head. Vivid in her mind was the mandala carved directly into the granite. “It's a map!”
“What's not a mandala?” Amith asked.
Sharif kept his eyes on Jayani and quickly explained to Amith. “Kaushi Arretane occupied on a cave atop Nallur Mountain. On the wall was a mandala etched into the granite wall, a mandala that Kaushi kept covered. After she died, Jayani found the mandala—or what she thought was a mandala. We have to go there.”
Amith's eyebrows rose. “You say it's a map? To what?”
Jayani shook her head. “I don't know. Sharif, let's fetch the young ones. I suspect we've found where to start searching.”
