Chapter Twenty: The Force Within.

280 Words
Maya sat on the edge of the couch, hands clasped tightly in her lap, heart pounding as Alex stood—or leaned—just a few feet away. The air between them seemed charged, thick with anticipation. Every subtle movement Alex made was deliberate, directed solely at Maya, drawing her attention like a magnet. “You’re quiet,” Alex murmured, her voice low, teasing, almost velvety. She stepped just close enough that their knees brushed, fingers barely grazing Maya’s hand. “Thinking about something?” Maya’s cheeks flushed. She looked up, meeting Alex’s eyes, and felt the force of her presence—the quiet dominance, the magnetic energy pulling her closer, making it impossible to think clearly. “I… I’m just… thinking,” she stammered. Alex’s lips curved into a soft, knowing smile. “About me?” she teased, letting her shoulder lightly press against Maya’s, just enough to make her pulse jump. Each moment with Alex was a test of Maya’s composure, and she felt herself failing. Maya’s thoughts spun. She wanted to resist, to remind herself of boundaries, but Alex’s presence held her in place, her subtle force inescapable. The memory of their kiss replayed in her mind—the warmth, the softness, the intimacy. Alex reached out, brushing a finger along Maya’s wrist, lingering just enough to command her attention. “You feel it, don’t you?” she whispered, letting the closeness press against Maya’s chest. “The force, the intensity… you can’t ignore it.” Maya exhaled shakily, realizing that resisting was becoming impossible. Every glance, every brush of a finger, every whispered word tethered her to Alex, and she knew the moment had changed everything.
