Scared alpha

As the glowing eyes vanished inside, Callahan's gaze remained fixed on the cottage. His thoughts were racing with fear and uncertainty. He needed to be cautious, but he wasn't sure what he should do next. These characters were looking for someone in his cottage. Could they be looking for him? As he weighed his options, his heart pounded in his chest. The moonlight was too bright for him to make a quick getaway without being seen. He swallowed hard, trying to keep the panic in his throat at bay. He had to stay until the figures vanished. He forced himself to breathe slowly and evenly, keeping his gaze fixed on the cottage for any sign of movement. Smucker's gravelly voice pierced the stillness of the moment without warning. "This place is deserted," he declared, scanning the surroundings. "It's time to think about option B. We'll have to maneuver through the dense forest." His men agreed and fell in line behind him, their boots crushing the slick wet grass. Finally, unbeknownst to Callahan his eyes glowed red, his night vision coming into play, as he watched the black-clad figures disembark, he breathed a sigh of relief. However, just as the tension in the air began to ease, a strong gust of wind ripped through the clearing, sending Smucker and his men stumbling and flailing. Dust and debris swirled around them, causing their hair to fly wild. The wind then snatched Smucker's hat from his head and tossed it through the air in a cruel twist of fate. "s**t!" Smucker grumbled, his jaw clenched. Jayda took a confident step forward. "Don't worry, Beta," she said over the roar of the wind. "Allow me to get it for you." She ran quickly towards the hat, her footsteps making a loud noise in the rustling grass. As she bent down to pick it up, she became completely focused on a pair of red, flickering eyes looking back at her. Callahan felt a surge of fear as Jayda stared into the darkness, directly at him, as if she could sense his presence. Little did he know, she could see his eyes glowing red in the dark. She panicked and quickly went back to her friends for safety. She was out of breath but proud as she handed the hat to Smucker, her chest heaving from the effort. Smucker nodded briefly to show his gratitude and took the hat from her, his eyes still scanning the area for any signs of danger. Jayda's voice abruptly broke the silence. "I think I saw glowings, Beta." Smucker's heart beat faster. "Glowings!" He exclaimed. Jayda validated his worst fears. "Yes! I think I saw a pair of crimson eyes staring at me." The group became extremely concerned. "Then he must be present. The Alpha has been watching us closely" Smucker grumbled and replaced his hat on his head before turning to face Jayda. "Come on, Jayda, take us to the location where you saw the blazing eyes." Jayda nodded, her gaze fixed on the location of the ominous eyes. Smucker and his pack reappeared just as Callahan thought the tension had subsided. As he watched in terror, Callahan's heart sank and tears welled up in his eyes. "Cal, run! Run for your life while you still have time," His inner voice pleaded with him. "Stand up right now!" he said to himself, trying to summon the courage to flee the approaching danger. Jayda led the way for the pack to Greta's grave. "It was there," Jayda said quietly, pointing to the grave. Smucker huffed and moved towards the grave, followed closely by the rest of the pack. Callahan quickly closed his eyes and tried to control his breathing as Smucker scanned the area. His heart pounded in his chest, and he was aware that any noise he would made could reveal his location. He could feel Smucker's gaze on him as he grunted. He was sprawled beside the grave, mud all over his face, and he hoped to go unnoticed. The tension in the air caused beads of sweat to form on his brow. Any mistake could spell the end of his life. "We know you're here, Alpha," Smucker said into the silence of the glade. His only response was silence. There wasn't even a rustle in the leaves to indicate the presence of the elusive boy they were looking for. Smucker scanned the clearing for any signs of movement or disturbance. That's when he noticed the muddy shovel next to the newly dug grave. "This appears to have been used recently," Smucker observed, his gaze fixed on the shovel. Hopkins took a step closer to inspect the site with him. "Greta's body is no longer here," Hopkins said solemnly. "Perhaps the boy buried her before leaving." Smucker's attention was drawn back to the task at hand. "Yes, boy," he muttered under his breath, his gaze flickering over to Callahan's trembling figure. The ground shook beneath his heavy footsteps, causing Callahan to tremble even more. His imposing stature cast a dark shadow over Callahan, making him feel even smaller and helpless than he was. Smucker's piercing gaze fell on Callahan, causing him to stiffen in fear. As he came to a halt, his heavy boot crushed Callahan's fingers. Callahan tried to bear the pain, but the weight of Smucker's boot on his fingers was agonizing. He clenched his teeth, refusing to cry out in pain. He couldn't show his fear, not now, not ever. He'd never felt more exposed and vulnerable in his entire life. Callahan's fingers throbbed with pain as the seconds ticked by like hours. Just when he thought he couldn't take it any longer, Smucker released his foot and turned his attention toward the pack. He could hear the frantic THUMP THUMP beat of a heart and knew that one of his pack members was terrified. "Is any of you scared?" he yelled to his pack, his voice echoing across the glade. "Does your heart race from fear?" Smucker inquired, and the pack exchanged puzzled glances before admitting that they were terrified of the new red-eyed. Smucker measured their heartbeats to determine their level of fear. Callahan's heart was pounding in his chest, but he tried to control his breathing, hoping to slow his heartbeat. Smucker's gaze was drawn back to Callaghan, and the THUMP THUMP of his heart resumed at an alarming rate. Callahan's eyes narrowed in terror, knowing that Smucker could sense his distress. He lay motionless, hoping Smucker would leave him alone and spare his life. Despite his fear and confusion, Smucker took slow, deliberate steps towards Callahan and without warning he swung his leg up, and slammed it into Callahan's face. Callahan couldn't help but scream at the top of his lungs because the pain was unbearable. He knew his life, his dreams, and his future were all over. He could only think of his mother and the disappointment he had caused her as he lay there writhing in pain.
