Before anyone could react, Callahan darted towards his mother with lightning speed. He knelt down beside her and tenderly held her head in his hands, cradling it between his laps.
Her hand hung limply by her side, and her fingers were sticky with congealing blood. Callaghan gently slid his open hand into hers, hoping that she would respond. To his relief, her fingers slowly curled around his hand.
Greta's eyes were wide with fear, and the pain on her face was evident. Callaghan's heart ached as he pleaded with her to stay with him. He could see the anguish in her eyes, and it was clear that she was struggling to hold on. With every fiber of his being, Callaghan willed her to keep fighting.
As the rain cleared, Callaghan's eyes remained fixed on his mother, her life slowly slipping away. He felt his heart sink in his chest, as he struggled to grasp the reality of what was happening. Memories flooded his mind, every laugh, every smile, every moment they had shared together. But now, it was all fading away.
As her hand slipped from his grasp, Callaghan couldn't help but feel a deep sense of loss. His body shook with grief, tears streaming down his face as he cradled her close to his chest. He tried to call out to her, to shake her back to life, but there was no response.
In that moment, Callaghan's world shattered. He felt as though he was drowning in a sea of emotions, the weight of his grief crushing him. He didn't want to let go, to face the reality that his mother was truly gone. But he knew he had to.
With a heavy heart, Callaghan gently laid his mother down, her battered face a stark contrast to the pain he felt inside. He knew that life would never be the same without her, but he would carry her memory with him always.
As he looked down at her still body, a hot fury boiled within him. He rose from the ground, nostrils flaring, and watched as Grandalf approached him majestically.
Callaghan's emotions surged within him, threatening to overwhelm him. With a sudden burst of energy, he launched himself into the air, his hand tightly coiled into a fist and aimed at the approaching Grandalf.
Grandalf planted his feet firmly on the ground, his unwavering expression betraying no hint of fear or surprise. He felt a sudden blow to his chest as Callaghan's fist connected with him, causing him to stumble backwards and fall onto the rain-soaked ground. The force of the impact left him dazed and disoriented, his mind struggling to make sense of what had just happened.
As Grandalf struggled to regain his bearings, he watched as the other members of his pack closed in around Callaghan, their eyes blazing with caution and suspicion. They knew that something was amiss, and Grandalf could sense their unease as they circled the young omega.
Grandalf was bewildered by Callaghan's sudden burst of strength. As a red-eyed Alpha, he had always assumed that he was the strongest and most powerful member of his pack. But now, he couldn't explain how an omega like Callaghan had managed to overpower him.
Despite his confusion and disbelief, Grandalf remained calm and composed. He knew that he had to stay focused and alert, ready to defend himself and his pack at all costs.
"I'll handle this," Grandalf growled to his pack, his voice laced with fury.
"This is my fight, and I'll make sure that this half-breed pays for humiliating me."
With that, his pack backed away without hesitation, leaving Grandalf to face Callaghan alone. He would teach the boy a lesson that he would never forget, one that would change his life forever.
Grandalf crouched low, his muscles tense as he prepared to rise from the ground. Callaghan leapt towards him, his fist aimed straight for Grandalf's face. But Grandalf was ready, his hand instinctively rising to shield himself from the incoming attack.
"Take this," he grumbled, swinging his left fist upwards with force. It connected with Callaghan's jaw, and for a moment, the boy faltered. But his anger was too great, and he lunged forward, headbutting Grandalf with all his might. A sickening crunch filled the air as Grandalf's nose broke under the force of the blow. He growled in pain, his hand flying up to stem the flow of blood that poured down his face.
This is more difficult and embarrassing than I had anticipated," he muttered, his voice low and gritty.
"I never imagined, not once in my life, that I'd need to transform into a wolf to defeat an omega."
Grandalf wiped the blood from his nose with the back of his hand, his eyes flashing with determination. He would not be defeated so easily.
With a sudden, violent roar, Grandalf's body began to contort and twist, his skin bubbling and bones shifting with a tearing feeling. His head grew longer and his height shot up, tearing apart his garments like frail cobwebs. Fur as black as the night sprouted from his body, covering him completely. Callaghan couldn't look away as he stared at the massive black humanoid beast with razor-sharp teeth that could rend flesh from his bones in seconds.
Grandalf roared again, his red flashing eyes locked on Callaghan. He took a huge leap, stretching himself out and swiping his massive claws towards Callaghan. With a quick, graceful movement, Callaghan swerved to the side, and the claws missed him by a hair's breadth. Grandalf landed on the ground, his muscles flexing as he growled and jumped at Callahan once more.
With a quick flick of his wrist, Callahan's fingers transformed into razor-sharp claws that glinted menacingly in the moonlight. The sound of metal on metal echoed through the air as his claws clashed against Grandalf's.
Grandalf was quick, but Callahan was quicker. As Grandalf lunged at him, Callahan's reflexes kicked in, and he dodged to the side. Grandalf's claws grazed his shoulder, leaving a deep gash. Callahan winced in pain, but he refused to show any weakness.
Their claws collided again and again, each strike sending sparks flying into the night sky.
The towering figure of Grandalf loomed over small Callaghan, his massive size making him seem like a giant compared to the boy. With lightning-fast movements, Grandalf attacked, his sharp claws leaving deep gouges on Callaghan's body with each swipe.
Grandalf continued his brutal assault, his claws raining down on Callaghan's defenseless body. The boy tried to fight back, but it was like trying to punch a brick wall. With one final blow, Grandalf delivered a devastating spiral punch to Callaghan's chin.
Callaghan's body was sent flying through the air, his feet no longer touching the ground. For a brief moment, everything seemed to freeze as gravity took hold and pulled him back down to earth. The impact was bone-crushing, his limbs snapping out of place before painfully popping back into position.
Grandalf knew that he had to end this quickly. With a fierce growl, he lunged forward, his claws aimed for Callahan's heart.
Callahan saw the move coming and tried to dodge, but it was too late. Grandalf's claws found their mark, sinking deep into Callahan's chest. Callahan gasped, his eyes wide with shock and pain. Grandalf stood over him, victorious but weary, his claws still dripping with Callahan's blood.
