Its been a week since she found out, and the more she thinks about it, the more she likes the idea. Although she was determined to finish her book, it wasn't long before her eyes start to close. With a yawn she reaches to put the book on her bedside table and turn off the lamp, then Beth is out like a light. “I know you want to kiss me,” she blushes a little, she does but she holds back. Beth has to look away to remain in control, she takes a deep breath before looking back. That is when she's met by Kent's lips, she freezes for a moment before kissing back. They kiss for a few minutes before needing to pull away.
Beth is surprised by how much she enjoyed that, with a giggle and a wide smile she pulls him back for more. Kent is more than happy to continue, he holds her close. Beth wakes up unsure of how to process her dream, she sits up and thinks about her feelings. She smiles a little at how real it felt, she touches her lips before shaking her head. Focus Beth. A few minutes pass before she's up and getting ready for the day, and she hoped that nothing else would happen.
Kent was sorting out a few things at work, even though his door was open Martin knocked before walking in. “I can tell you're a lot happier these days” Kent smiled a little, he leaned back and looked away from the computer. Martin sat down and continued “I can also guess who is behind it,” Kent snorted “of course, you can.” It fell quiet for a moment or two, “at least you’ll finally have her.” Even if this hadn't come up, Kent would have still pursued her. Things moved along “how are things going with the latest project,” “as well as they can be.” Kent was happy with the fact that nothing had gone wrong.
After a few more minutes, Martin went back to his office. Kent had some time so he decided to send Beth a message or two, “I bet you're thinking about me ;).” He placed his phone on his desk, he then decided to check his email. Of course, he was simply waiting for a response, one which came around ten minutes later. “I will neither confirm it nor will I deny it.” He laughed a little “I was right,” he then went back to his emails.
Beth had hoped it would be a quiet Friday, but there's something she didn't expect. She was alone in the store since Alex was running late, as she stocked some of the shelves she soon realizes she's not alone. As she looks to her right she sees Levi, she takes a deep breath “what are you doing here.” He looked at the products beside her “my answer is always I'm here to see you,” Beth moves away as best she can. “I wish you wouldn't drop by” she wants nothing to do with him, he doesn't respond but he does move closer. “I’m wondering when you'll give in” a chill went up her spine, “I’m never going to.”
A few seconds later she hears “sorry I’m late,” Beth takes the chance to walk away. Levi isn't going to stop his pursuit, “I know you will realize you want to be with me.” She looked like she wanted to throw up, “Levi when will you see I don't want you.” Its clear he doesn't get it, after a few more minutes he leaves the store. She feels relief but how long will that last, Alex joins her “he really needs a life” Beth laughs a little. “Or a hobby” she continues stocking the shelves, Alex moves to the counter to tidy up. He decides that they need a little music, he also decides that Beth needs a good distraction.
So, he begins to sing and dance a little, it does the trick she laughs “don't give up your day job.” He pretends to be offended, then he simply continues. It isn't long before she has a different distraction, she smiles a little as she teases Kent. Beth is startled by “so, who's the guy,” she jumps a little “just someone I know.” Its obvious he wants more “you can't keep me in suspense,” she is tempted to “why not? Its pretty fun.” Alex smiles a little “yeah, fun for you” he tries again “so, spill.” In the end, Beth gives in, she shows him a picture of Kent “he's cute.” She agrees. With a teasing grin she says; “can we get back to work now.”
Alex sighs “fine” things go back to normal, by the end of the day, they're both exhausted. Beth is ready to fall asleep, her mind was busy replaying what happened with Levi. Beth hoped she wouldn't run into him again, she felt a little nervous walking home. When she wasn't far from her place she noticed him, Levi was at the end of the block. She took a deep breath and walked quicker, no surprise that he wasn't far behind. “You can't escape me” by the time Beth reached her door, she steeled herself “I can. You just can't accept that I don't want you,” with that she walked inside and locked the door.
It didn't give her much relief.
