I opened my eyes to the sound of heavy rain outside. My pulse still thumped loudly against my temples as my breathing fell short and ragged. My cheeks felt cold and I raised a hand to touch it only to realize that I had been crying while I slept which was no surprise at all considering that it was such a horrible dream. There was still that vivid, lingering ache in my heart, but now that I've woken up, I could only vaguely recall Alexander's cold stare. Everything was starting to become a blur. I was thankful for that. I continued to stare at the ceiling whilst I gave myself time to calm down.
