Felix took one last glance at the sleeping Jonathan through the small c***k in his door. Shouldering his backpack, he walked back into the deserted streets and closed the front door behind him. The wind blew past his cheeks, and he lifted his hoodie over his head, tightening the drawstrings. He fished out his phone and the small scrap of paper from his pocket before deliberately dialing Madelyn's number. As he pressed the screen against his ear, he heard the soft ringing through the speakers but dropped the call after a while when she didn't answer. The time read 2:34 AM, so he figured that the girl was most likely asleep by now and decided to give her a call when the sun's up.
