**LONG AUTHOR'S NOTE. YOU CAN SKIP THIS CHAPTER.
Hi! Author here!
Good news--After much much troubleshooting, I figured out how to fix the issue with my repeated chapters, however, it would require me to re-type everything on the platform instead of copy-pasting them from MS Word which is what I usually do. For this reason, it might take me a while to fix everything and write new chapters. I hope everyone will be patient with me since I don't write full-time.
Since I'm still in the middle of updating my previous chapters and I want to at least post something today (I haven't been posting for the past two days), I decided to make a little Q&A filler chapter. Of course, you're welcome to skip this chapter. I doubt most of you will be interested anyway haha. But in case some of you want to know more about the story, here you go!
1. What is the setting of the story?
Originally, I planned on making the story take place in a completely new universe in a medieval-ish timeline with influences of futuristic and modern technology. But I would have to come up with names of places, and I'm really bad with that. So I ended up just setting the story in an alternate universe in our current timeline. Additionally, I don't know if you have noticed but I have been avoiding mentioning specific places and cultures as much as I could since I want to minimize the research that I would have to do in the entire writing process. So I've been writing as neutral as possible.
2. Will other lycanthropes make an appearance in the book?
Unfortunately, no. I don't plan on writing about any other lycanthropes besides werewolves. But if you do want me to, you can drop a comment, and maybe--just maybe--I'll change my mind *wink*.
3. There is a lot of variety of werewolves in fiction. What kind of werewolves are in the story?
The classic werewolves are savage beasts that transform into a wolf on a full moon and then wake up the next morning without any memory of the prior night's events. Though one could never go wrong with that idea, I wanted to stray away a little from the typical werewolf. Thus, the idea of using the concept of pheromones. For those of you who don't know, pheromones are substances that are believed to come from the lycanthrope's sweat and are used as means of communication. So in that context, werewolves secrete different pheromones in different situations. I think this idea is underrated.
4. What kind of plot or character developments should we look forward to?
Well, I don't want to spoil anything at this point, but I'm hoping to discuss some major real-life societal issues like discrimination and abuse of power in the upcoming chapters. But ultimately, there will be more to Alexander and Sofia's lovestory so keep reading!
5. Will we be seeing more diversity in the story?
I would definitely love to do that! However, with my knowledge as of now, I am yet to envision myself writing about minorities and people of color so maybe in my future novels, I will be.
6. Can you give more information about Alexander and Sofia?
Well, I will be slowly revealing more about them in the upcoming chapters but since I'm feeling generous today, perhaps I can give a little bit?
Sofia Madden
-18 years old (birthdate unknown)
-purposely written without a surname in (at least) the first quarter of the book to emphasize how deprived humans are even with the most basic matters
-illiterate but street-smart
Alexander Madden
-26 years old; born January 1st
-became a pack alpha at 17
-written as a stoic and somewhat short-tempered character who becomes a teddy bear for Sofia (I promise that there are fluffy and heartwarming love scenes coming up!)
That's it!
To be honest, my creativity peaks late at night so my chapters are more like insomniac afterthoughts rather than an organized prose so I'm kinda surprised that people are actually looking forward to reading this book haha. Feedbacks and constructive criticism alike are welcome so I'm hoping to hear more from you guys!
'Till next update!
