Three weeks. It had been three weeks since she had moved into the guest room at Gabriella’s house. Since then, she had seen Hunter only four times, twice in passing and twice he had come to find her in the kitchen cooking with Cassie and she knew he was looking for her since Cassie had told her he would ask her when she was coming. Both of those visits were brief as he asked her how she was and what they were making before he hurried away. He never made eye contact with her, preoccupied with the countertop or something in his hands, only briefly watching her hands as she signed short responses. But as vague and short those moments had been, they had made her happy. She would even get excited with his little, short responses to her text messages. No matter how inconsequential her message
