Chapter 6The way Alex looked at Sean had changed. Not for the better.
The conference room buzzed with the tension between the two of them. Sean felt as if he could taste it on the air. He wondered if his mother was picking up on it. She must be. People down on the surface of Ganymede were probably picking up on it. They struggled through the agenda, and progress came hard, when it came at all.
“We must have a productivity increase if you want a raise in basic salary to compensate for losing your suit-room shifts,” Alex said. “Your people have to work harder. Even a fool could see that.”
