"I thought you said we aren't going back to the estate." My mother said to Marco when she noticed where we were headed, which wasn't away from the mansion.
He opened his mouth to say something, and then he shut it.
"You suddenly lost your gift of speech." She said again.
"I have to take you there first before we can go anywhere, and Dorian had said for me to bring you both to him."

I was going to say I didn't mind going back to the mansion, but I knew this was not the best time to antagonize my mother. I couldn't take sides, even if I wasn't really taking sides.
