I was coming down the back stairs three days after the terrace conversation, early, before anyone else was moving, and I heard his voice through the kitchen door in that same low and fast manner I've heard him talk before, and I stopped on the last step and listened. "Vasile knows about the Reiss thing, Dorian. He's not going to let it go." There was a pause, then Dorian's voice. "I know." "If he's been watching the house—" "I know, Marco."
