REINA'S POV

It's been days since I woke up in the infirmary not a single time did Ayden visited me, but why is he that guilty? I went to visit my Father in his study and even him refuses to see me. I mean seriously this is crazy!I just saved him from getting stabbed and this is the thanks that I get. I paced anxiously in the Garden, calming my nerves before anything goes wrong again.

"Penny for your thoughts?"

"Well I gotta say it's quite expensive sharing these thoughts to you Ry" he chuckled.

" Have you talked to him?"

I just shook my head, Ryle then understood that nothing good ever happened ever since I woke up.

"Well if it'll make you feel better I haven't heard from him ever since the Attack but I'm glad to tell you from a reliable source of course that's he's eating well"

' If he's eating well then I hope he eats like its his very last meal"

"Clearly it did not make you feel better but speaking of the devil" He nodded passed me, I looked back and I saw him. He looks miserable, bruises and dark circles what happened to him?

"Ayden, come!" My brother invites him over. He looked stunned when he saw me but came closer to us.

"Hey, its good to see you Rei"

"Thanks Ayden" Seriously? good to see me? Are you even my mate?

"Thats it?" my brother blurted

'What do you mean 'That's it??"

"Oh I don't know, make out like I'm not here have s*x in the middle of the y-yard... ooof"

I punched him hard. "OW! REINA THAT FCKNG HURTS!!!"

"YOU'RE THE i***t WHAT MAKES YOU THINK WE WANNA MAKE OUT AS SOON AS WE SEE EACH OTHER?"

"Really Rei? W-what abou-t" I covered his mouth before anything will get exposed Ayden doesn't have to know I miss him. Though I'm mad that he did not visit me once but still I got my pride to protect to.

"It's fine Ryle your sister rejected me, so I don't think she needs that from me either."

"YOU WHAT?!" Oops I did not see that coming urgh seriously Ayden?! "OHHHH NO MISSY YOU SHOULD GET ONE PUNCH FROM ME MYSELF"

"What a way to drop the bomb Ayden" I galred at him but he was taken back by my response

"Drop the bomb?! what if Ayden didn't say that Are you planning to tell me about it??"

'Based from your reaction? No I won't"

"Well it's good to see you both having a fun time"

We just stopped and looked at Ayden. Here we are bickering as always but we didn't even consider asking how he's doing.

"Bro, where have you been these days?"

"Well I had to deal with your father ever since the attack and trust me it's not a good sight"

"What happened? What did he do to you?"

I have to know what happened since, Ayden is still my mate and if my father did something because of what I've done I'm gonna make him regret what he did to him.

"Really Reina it's nothing it's my fault I should've just accepted your rejection and left. if I did that you wouldn't got hurt and it's because of me we lost a lot of wolves that day" It hurts to hear him blaming himself for all this, I was the one who decided to jump in not him.

"NO! Ayden if anyone should've been blamed it's me! I'm the one who jumped in front of my Father to save him! That was my decision you are not part of it!"

"But it's because of me that Dimitri decided to attack the pack! not you Reina. He's been on my tail ever since her daughter was gone, I was not thinking clearly! I was just focused on proving to you that I can be a better mate considering that I'm a rogue"

"Well you can still be"

We just stared at each other, shocked as he heard those words coming out from my mouth.

"AND NOW'S THE PERFECT TIME TO MAKE OUT!"

"RYLEI SWEAR IF YOU DON'T SHUT UP I'M GONNA KNOCKOUT YOUR BALLS!"

"Oh well then, Ayden man it's good to see you but I'm out of here So yeah bye!" he ran inside the pack house and i'm thrilled I swear everytime he opens his mouth it's either him being sweet and thoughtful on the other hand being a s*x-o-mania.

Ayden chuckled and I looked at him, It's good to see him smile he looks bad yes I admit but it's reassuring seeing him here with me.

"Walk with me? My princess?"

"Oh since when do you sound so proper?"

"Well to be honest., Steve made me watch a series on Netflix Bridgerton I guess it was called"

"Really?I never saw that"

"Oh well maybe we could watch it sometime?"

"I'd like that" we just walked in silence, I nodded him to go up the tree house, a little privacy wouldn't mind him right? I made my way to the table and he followed my and sat right next to me. "Ayden, I-i"

"Reina listen, I never want those things to happen to you but before anything else,I want you to hear this from me first"

"Okay?"

"Dimitri's daughter, her name is Eli she's two years younger than me. What happened was 8 years ago, Dimitri found me and took me in, he found me after dinner one evening I was waiting for my dinner at the back of a restaurant, they're good people by the way the humans. I worked my appreciation for them by taking out the trash or even lucky days wash their dishes and every single time they would offer me a place to live but I always turn them down because I knew I didn't fit in. Dimitri saw me offered a place to sleep but of course I always turned it down the offer but he always came to the restaurant and asked for me everytime he's around just so he can see me eat. One day I saw a little girl to play with me and she was Eli, Dimitri explained that he brought Eli to have fun with so we played the whole afternoon that day but there was something about Eli that made me want to spent my whole life with her. So when Dimitri asked me to live with him, I agreed right then and there."

I was shocked they known each other for years, he lived with him why betray the man who raised him? and the connection he felt for Eli, was she his first mate? Am I his second chance mate?

"I know what your thinking but no me and Eli were not mates"

"How'd you know I was thinking that? Do you read minds?"

"Nah I don't I just guessed" he chuckled

"Go on, I'm listening"

"All right, so yeah I lived with Dimitri and a pack of rogues for 10 years, me and Eli we're basically siblings by the time I moved in, we played, bathe and slept together as if we're brothers and sisters. Me and Eli always thought that we would be mates someday because of the connection that we felt for each other and it's silly because we were planning to lose each others virginity once we both have our wolves. It's stupid I know and based from your looks I know it hurts but please hear me out?" It's hard hearing him say these things, but I can't blame him if he felt those feeling with her before so I just zipped my mouth and nodded at him to continue. But he just stared at me, scared to finish the story

"I'm fine I wanna hear everything continue" he sighed but continued.

"On my 18th birthday, I got Reed I was expecting to sense Eli's scent at that time because that's what the adults told me. If my mate is close I should be able to to sense her, so I hurriedly went to Eli's room but no. Reed did not react anything at all comparing to when I first sensed you. So by then I knew she was not my mate, I told her what happened and we were both saddened, I really thought of her as my mate that time. So we decided to keep things casual, so we remained best of friends/siblings. We may be rogues but we learned to basically wait until our mates show up and love them wholeheartedly. So even though we weren't mates', at least we were there for each other. Not until 2 months ago we were celebrating her 18th birthday, everything was going well she just got her wolf but then we were attacked by the Alpha of the Dark Wood Pack. Apparently Dimitri killed the Alpha's parents some years ago and he attacked us for revenge. The Alpha made a truce with Eli that she will sacrifice herself and making Dimitri's life miserable rather than killing everyone and making her the only survivor. She chose to her people of course but I was there with her witnessing her getting pushed to the cliff, and it was stupid . She made me promise that night to not tell her father what the truce was about, so I paid my friends to start a rumour that we were running away instead of teling Dimitri that they took her life."

"Ayden, that's crazy! you don't give the man false hope! If he will find out that she's gone then what would happen to you?!"

'I know it's crazy, It was the only way that I could think of to leave the pack. I can't tell him that her daughter was killed by the Alpha he would annihilate the whole Dark Wood Pack! Yes we are rogues but Dimitri's got the whole army of rogues that can end and bethrow a pack. I may be sacrificing myself but I'm also saving their pack." I sighed.

"Did you tell my Father about this?"

"Yes, I did. I have to so that I can see you and I'm sorry for not visiting you sooner he made me swear not to come near you if I will not tell him what happened. I just told him this morning when I heard you in the pantry today, I just missed you, I wanted to see you or I'll lose myself" I smiled when I heard that from him.

"I missed you too" I looked at him with adoration closed the gap between us and kissed him. I could tell that he was shocked with my actions but he kissed my back. Putting his hand on my waist bringing me closer and deepening the kiss. Our first kiss, my first kiss was taken by my mate which is exactly what I would have wanted, unless? I stopped kissing him remembering something.

"Wait!"

"What?"

"T-that was my first kiss..."

"So? it was mine too"

"Wait so you felt a connection with Eli got oh-so lovey-dovey but never kissed?"

"Yeah exactly"

"B-but..."

"Oh come here stop overthinking" he pulled me in to kiss him again. This time our tongue danced , his hands gripping on my hair and on my waist. My hand was everywhere from his hair to his neck and back to his hair again. He pulled me into his lap as my core was touching his member, I could feel it twitching, I want to touch it but I think that would just make things awkward. We stopped catching our breath, we just rested our heads together and our breaths in sync making me smile.

"That was nice" I smiled looking at him

"Yeah it was" we were staring at each other, it was awkward sitting on his lap so I stood and paced around the room.

"Hey? Princess? What's wrong?"

"Nothing I-i just remembered that this was the place where I told you that I will you for my title and who knew it would be the place where we would have our first kiss"

"Well Thanks you for reminding me"

"No! I'm sorry urgh I'm so stupid, it's not what I- mean-t" I stopped as he kissed my lips, making me blush he went down in one knee grabbing my hands at the same time.

"Princess Reina of the Red Sea Pack. I, Ayden Morgan your mate promise that I will make you regret rejecting me as your mate hence I vow that every day in your life I will do my best to make your life a living dream. I will be there every step of the way, to love you, care for you and be there when you need me the most. I am a rogue but my title doesn't love you I do, and this is not just the mate pull talking this is me and Reeds' vow to you." he kissed my hand as I laugh

"Your not proposing are you?"

"Well not yet but are you willing to give me another chance? Can we start over?" I smiled. This is probably the sweetest thing that anyone has done to me.

"Yes, we can" I smiled as he stood up kissing me on my lips.

"Don't worry we'll take thinks slow" he winked and I just chuckled.

//Reina, come to my office now//

I stood shocked as my dad sent me a mind link

//Yes father//

"I'm sorry but I think we should continue this session"

"What happened?"

"My father just sent me a mind link, he needs me in his office"

"Then I won't stop you, go on"

"Thanks" I kissed his cheeks leaving him on the treehouse.

I happily went to my Fathers study, smiling as I passed every corridors but composed my self outside my fathers' door.I knocked three time and I hear him say 'come in'

"You needed me Father?"

"Yes, Reina sit down...." I took a seat on the other side of his table waiting for him to sit on the other side but instead he went closer to where I was sitting and took his glasses off.

"Father? What's wrong?" he sighed but I can sense him being relieved of something.

"I just wanna apologize why I kept ignoring you these past few days, as a father I felt defeated seeing you took the dagger instead of me. I couldn't face you and I was embarrassed, you were so ready in giving up yourself for me. I now know your determination that you are willing to take your life just to make your father safe. As a man it's embarrassing but as an Alpha I thank you for saving my life sweet pea"

"Dad... it's been a long time that you called me that"

"I know I've been tough, but I had to ever since we lost your mom I had to build a facade that I'm holding on for our pack up until both you and brother are ready to take over. The pressure of running the pack and at the same time raise you two really got me overwhelmed so I just focused with the pack leaving you to fend with Ryles' amends. I never got to thank you sweetie, I'm sorry for everything."

"Dad it's okay, at least you were there for me and Ryle."

"I know and to make it up to you I have some information about Ayden."

"What about Ayden?"

"I'm not sure yet but 20 years ago, there was a conflict on the pack concerning Ace and Janice Morgan. It happened a year before I took my title, all I know was that a baby was kidn*pped 20 years ago and your grandpa and our betas tried to look for the baby but called it off a month later since no baby/body was found."

"Then that could change everything! So that means me and Ayden could be together?!"

"Yes baby but we still need to be sure, and in any case we need to introduce Ayden to Ace and Janice and also invite your grandpa here to us to explain what exactly happened."

"Yes daddy!!!! Thank you!!! Thank you so much!!!!"

"But don't tell him yet, all right I would need some thins for the DNA to make sure."

"Yes dad what do you need? Can I help?"

"Sure sweet pea we need his hair sample for the DNA Test"

"On it!" I turned to look for Ayden but I I hugged my dad tightly and I could feel him hug me back.

"Thanks daddy' I kissed his cheeks and left his study, all we need now is Ayden's hair sample and we'll be together maybe we'll see.
