Future Doctors & Dangerous Heirs

By the second week of college, Viola had officially become three things: known among freshers suspicious among seniors and unforgettable to Ash Which honestly sounded like the beginning of a disaster. The morning sun poured through the giant classroom windows as students slowly filled Lecture Hall B. Viola entered while carrying: three notebooks one coffee and zero emotional stability "I still can't believe morning classes exist," she muttered dramatically. A sleepy crow sitting outside the window replied: "Humans enjoy suffering." "True." She checked her schedule again carefully. Department: Veterinary Medical Science Viola smiled slightly. This was the one thing in life she genuinely loved. Animals never lied. Never pretended. Never hid emotions behind fake smiles. Humans? Different story. Naina suddenly dropped into the seat beside her dramatically. "Emergency." Viola sighed. "Who died?" "Worse." "…What now?" Naina leaned closer. "Ash topped Business Management again." Viola blinked. "That's your emergency?" "You don't understand. That man fights people, scares professors, disappears mysteriously AND still gets highest grades." "…Annoying." "Exactly." Viola frowned thoughtfully. Business Management? For some reason she expected Ash to study something illegal. Not business. Then again… mafia people probably need accounting too. A small brown sparrow landed near the window. "The scary male is coming." Viola looked up automatically. Seconds later— Ash entered the hallway. Black shirt. Dark jeans. Files in one hand. The entire atmosphere shifted again. Students moved aside unconsciously. Some greeted him nervously. "Morning bhai." Ash nodded once. That was enough. Viola watched quietly. Even now… she couldn't fully understand him. He didn't act like a normal student. Too calm. Too controlled. Too dangerous. Yet somehow— he remembered small things. Like her getting lost. Her weak fighting stance. Her fear of early mornings. And that made him even more confusing. Ash's eyes suddenly found her instantly inside the classroom. Like he noticed her automatically now. Viola looked away first this time. Growth. Unfortunately Naina noticed everything. "Oho." "Don't start." "You both literally stare like slow-motion movie scenes." "We absolutely do not." Naina grinned wickedly. "Sure." Professor Sharma entered before Viola could defend herself. The entire class quieted immediately. "Welcome students," he spoke calmly. "Today we'll begin introductions and future specialization discussions." Students groaned softly. Viola hated introductions. Especially human ones. One by one students stood up. Some spoke confidently. Some nervously. Then— "Viola." She stood slowly. "Hi… I'm Viola." "Department?" "Veterinary Medical Science." A few students looked surprised. Professor Sharma smiled slightly. "Interesting choice. Why veterinary medicine?" Because animals understand me better than humans. Instead she answered softly: "I've always felt connected to animals." Technically true. "Good," the professor nodded. "Passion matters in medical fields." Viola sat down thankfully. Then— "Ash." Silence instantly filled the classroom. Ash stood calmly from the back row. "I'm Ash." No surname. Interesting. "Department?" "Business Management." Professor Sharma nodded carefully. "And future goals?" A strange unreadable expression crossed Ash's face briefly. Then he answered calmly: "To build something powerful." Simple words. But somehow— they sounded heavier than normal. Like they carried hidden meaning. Viola noticed it immediately. So did the professor. But nobody questioned further. Ash sat back down silently. Naina whispered dramatically: "He talks like Netflix trailers." Viola nearly laughed. After class ended, students flooded the hallways again. Viola checked her next lecture schedule while walking through campus gardens. Veterinary Science Lab. Excitement instantly replaced her exhaustion. Finally. Something fun. The medical veterinary building smelled slightly different from the rest of campus. Cleaner. Softer. And filled with animal sounds. Viola's eyes lit up immediately. Dogs barked somewhere nearby. Birds chirped outside. Even rabbits sat inside observation enclosures. "This is heaven," she whispered emotionally. A tiny baby goat bleated proudly from nearby. "She looks unstable but kind." "Thank you?" The professor leading the lab smiled warmly. "Veterinary students must understand not just medicine… but behavior, trust, and emotional connection with animals." Viola instantly focused seriously. Unlike other subjects— this mattered deeply to her. As students moved around the lab learning introductions, Viola naturally approached an injured husky resting near the corner. The dog looked anxious. Scared. Viola slowly crouched beside him. "Hey…" The husky whimpered softly. "They keep touching my leg." "It's okay. They're helping you." "You smell safe." Viola smiled gently. "You're very dramatic." The husky relaxed almost immediately beside her. Nearby students noticed. "Woah…" "How did she calm him down so fast?" Even the professor looked impressed. "Excellent approach," he praised softly. "Animals trust calm energy." Viola looked embarrassed. If only he knew. Suddenly— movement near the glass door caught her attention. Ash stood outside the veterinary lab corridor. Talking on phone. Expression cold again. Viola frowned slightly. Business Management building was on the opposite side of campus. Why was he here? Ash noticed her through the glass instantly. Their eyes met. Then— his gaze shifted toward the husky calmly resting beside her. Something unreadable flickered in his expression. Not surprise. Recognition. Like seeing a puzzle piece connect. The husky suddenly whispered nervously: "The dangerous human smells like blood." Viola's heartbeat slowed. What? Before she could think further— Ash ended the phone call. And walked away. Just like that. But somehow… the strange heavy feeling remained inside her chest. Because for the first time— Viola realized something important. Ash wasn't just mysterious. He was hiding something dark enough that even animals could sense it.
