chapter 5

Shirley Her Alpha brought in a breeder to take her place. She couldn't stand the fact that a breeder could actually bare children for her groom whereas she's barren. She even left on the night of the ceremony. Goddess knows where she had gone. And now, to get back at the breeder, she murders her mother Arabella, the Luna of Crystal moon pack. That's all the whispers I hear about. Such gits about me. How could I have missed the fact that she was Evelyn's mother? I didn't murder her by the way, it was Tristan's mistake. "She's not responding" a voice cuts in on me. My lowered gaze rose to view who was standing in front of me. Donald. A member of Tremblay's council. I ignored his presence and wallowed my eyes in disgust. Tremblay was standing there, hands folded on his chest while he watched the council members interrogate me. They were five of them in the room, all elderly men. Amongst them was Rufus who tried to cheat on his wife with me. Donald who is homosexual and in love with my husband. Gerald, a former Alpha who was dethroned. Ronald, Megan and Lucian. Them I know nothing about and that pisses me off. I'm sure they all have a secrets they conceal. It would have been a good idea to expose them now and free myself from this shackles. "Answer the question Shirley!" Tremblay stormed at me. His eyes burning red. His veins were visible and channeling themselves around his arms. He has already released his arms from being folded and stepped forward closer to where I was seated. The only time I've seen him put on this look was when he had a beef with his rival the "Red moon pack". He really thinks I murdered her doesn't he? Seven years together and still yet, he doesn't know me. I sniffed with a darkened gaze at him. Heartbroken but trying to face reality. Tears clouded my eyes but I didn't want to look weak especially in the presence of Evelyn. "I didn't kill anyone." I defended myself. "Was someone with you then?" Tremblay questioned gently this time around. However his cold gaze remained. "T---" I was going to call his name, but it would only make matters worse if I do so. I kept staring at him unbelievably, while he stared mutually. "I didn't kill anyone Tremblay. I swear." I decided to break the silence that lasted between us. "I know you didn't do it. Just tell me someone else did?" Tremblay beckoned. Hearing those words he confessed, make my heart to melt. At least he believes me. Should I go ahead and tell him the truth that it was his brother? That might probably compromise my relationship with him last night. It's better every thing stays a secret, I rather go to prison for the wrong thing than have Tremblay believing that I cheated on him. "I don't know who killed her." I replied to his question and tried my best to look as innocent as ever. "You were drunk last night weren't you? You could have attacked her out of anger or frustration." Lucian interjected. His words were like striking bullet, although he had a point but he was wrong. "You were up early. You've never been up that early." Tremblay suddenly brought that up. "Really! Is it a crime to wake up early now?" I replied rudely like I was stirring up a fight between us. "Very well then, bring in the witness." Tristan walked in. My eyes looked away from Tremblay to see Tristan who just walked in. Is he the witness they just talked about. I almost laugh out loud. I really hope he can fix the mess he made, because it's really starting to turn into a dangerous pool. My mind deviated from the scene and all I could think about was my grumbling stomach. Tremblay looked at him with distain and narrowed his eyes.. He and his brother, has not been in good terms for a while now. Ever since Tristan tried to take over Tremblay's place as alpha of the Silver pack, Tremblay has seen him less than a brother. "She murdered my mother, didn't she." Evelyn spat. "Tristan. Tell them it's a lie. They're lying. Say it to their face." I said to him. He kept mute, while his head bowed low. "Tristan?" I muttered. "You seemed drunk, but I saw you murder that woman to death." Tristan spat. "What!" I couldn't believe my ears. Is he for real right now? "How could you?" Evelyn stormed at me, rushing to come throw a fist. She had tears streaming down her eyes. Seeing the emotions in her eyes, I knew this was serious. Tristan was really blaming me for the woman's death to clear his name. "I've always known she was dangerous. She must have done it for power. She wants to control your wealth." Donald claimed. "She's a jealous one." Gerald added. There was no room for me to defend myself in the midst of their scorn and cruel comment. "Death!" His words cuts in above theirs. "What!" I muttered confused. "That's the rule of murder right? I sentence her to death in the next three days." Tremblay stated loud and clear this time. It would have been unbelievable, if he wasn't standing before me, but he was. I gulped revealing my fear. was. "Tre---" she paused and looked at me. "My Lord" she referred to him. "Please don't do this." Evelyn begged on my behalf. "It's been decided. She has three days to prove herself innocent, else she died." he spoke without emotions. His eyes cold as ever. Tears began rolling down my cheeks uncontrollably. I couldn't say a word. Broken is the best description of my heart at this state. All that flooded my mind at the moment were flashes of good times we shared together. His confession to me. He could give up the world for me. Those moments, were there all a lie? It's possible he only married me to bear him a child, a son precisely. Tristan pushed him backwards. "How can you do this to your wife?" He quarrelled. Tremblay was less bothered by anyone's words. The council also didn't fail to show their shock. I know they never liked me, but death wasn't what they could wish for me either. I saw their darkened faces, they pity me. My wet eyes gave Tremblay a daring look. Tristan was dragged out of the room by soldiers, while two other soldiers came to take me. Evelyn sat on the floor to plead one more time. Her plea was for a different punishment other than death. Maybe, she's not as bad as I thought she is. Tristan however betrayed me today. While she pleaded, she suddenly had a belch, one that leads to a vomit. She held her stomach and yawned. Lucian, one of the council members reached out to her and supported her up. He looked in her dizzy eyes and felt her stomach. She pat his hands hurriedly and looked suspiciously at us. The belch came again, and she ran out immediately. Lucian bowed his head before the alpha and rose it again. "I'm sorry if this would sound disturbing my Lord, but the breeder is pregnant." he spoke with assurance. Lucian is a physician to the pack, so he sure knows what his talking about. I tried to find a surprised look in Tremblay's face, but he was totally shone to that. Something is wrong. How can Evelyn be pregnant when Tremblay and her only had s*x yesterday? Unless...
