CHAPTER 31 (Drowned)

The waves grew so large that the vessel was dwarfed, riding up and down the mighty swelling sea like a child's toy. Stormy clouds begin to roll in, blocking the bright sun. Rain pours furiously, drowning any sight of certainty. Monstrous waves of contrasting shades slam their ship.
Their bodies are now all wet by the drizzled rain. The shadow of the sea creatures showed after a few lightning storms passed by. He finds it even harder to aim it in the eye because he slides to its super slimy skin. Amethyst was so worried about Azure right now seeing him struggle, but she can't help him. Astra also helped to speed up the process of killing for that big monster. She used her magic wands to stop it from moving for 1 minute only. Just like using a car requires the ‘magic’ of fuel combustion or electrical or solar power, magic can’t come from nowhere. Often magic is something that can be depleted and must be replenished. Giving magic in your world finite supply explains why not all problems can be overcome using spells? It makes its power seem greater, due to its cost, too.
Whoosh!
The sound of her power is so mesmerizing. Sea creatures stopped from moving as the magic of her sounds has already taken effect.
"Azure! one minute!" Astra shouted.
Azure looked around to see them. He smirked before he stabbed and thrust his sword into its tentacle, and at the handle of his dark repulser became a stepping stone so he could get to the monster's head. Azure was too lucky because he was now clinging to its head.
"Hey! Ember, or maybe Broden, Shoot it!" Azure shouted to them.
"Shoot it near me," Azure added.
Ember ready her bow and arrow as she understands what he wants to do. Azure's sword is stuck on its tentacles so he doesn't have a weapon to use. Amethyst also does her job; she quickly runs to it tentacles and wraps its 2 tentacles together, using her long chain with a sharp edge.
Ember points her bow in her face as she draws. The bow fully back and aimed until she lost it. The fletching on it is gushing air near Azure's arm, hitting the skin of sea creatures.
"Sorry," Ember said, while she was doing a peace sign.
Azure took a deep breath because of what was already done. He almost hit it there, but it was perfect because the arrow was close to him.
"Quick! My power is about to end," Astra reminded them.
Azure took the arrow, and he pierced the arrow at Olaggaro's eye. He slid down and also took his sword as soon as Astra's spell was stopped. He jumped when the sea creature moved again. Amethyst is still in its tentacles making sure that her weapon wraps it properly. She remembered what happened then when they fought the land creature because the land creature quickly loosened from her weapon. Things happen so fast, even if it was not in their plan, it would suddenly help them a lot. Azure is about to approach Amethyst, but the third tentacle takes her up.
"Amethyst!"
Azure, Broden, Ember shouted, and the couple was also shocked by the incident. They all now look at Amethyst, who has been taken by the big monster. Azure's surroundings became silent as he ran through its tentacles. He ran so fast, faster than he could. He jumped up and recklessly divided the huge tentacle of the monster.
"That freak!" Broden whispered while running.
Broden ran to them, but it was too late. Monster's tentacle lifted Amethyst. She can't speak, she can breathe, and she can't move because of the tightness of its tentacles wrapped around her. The tentacle that held Amethyst fell into the water as Azure split it.

The anger from Azure's on. He ran and jumped to save Amethyst from the deep dark sea.

He didn't hesitate once. It's Winter after all, his girlfriend, his love, his life. Deep water engulfed Amethyst, followed by Azure. The third tentacles already lost its grip from Amethyst's body. Azure quickly swam into the deep sea and hugged it with one hand and returned it to the surface of the water.
While Captain Cosmic used his power. It was a long silver Bő. He ran and jumped from its tentacles. Sea creatures already blinded because of what Azure did to it. Olaggaro makes movement using its surroundings, so it still manages to attack.
Astra while draining her power earlier since she used it from the sea creature. Ember and Broden helped to full Amethyst away from the water. They'd offer to help Azure, but he insisted.
"Amethyst," Ember said, worriedly.
Azure checked her for 10 seconds if she was still breathing.
"Is she okay?" Ember asked.
"She needs CPR," Azure said.
"I volunteered—" Broden mumbled, as Ember slightly kicked his left leg.
Azure didn't bother to look up at the two. He was focused on Amethyst's condition.
Kick!
"Ouch!" Broden groaned.
"What's happening to you?" Ember asked, acting like she didn't do it.
"You kick—"
"A what? Let's go Broden, we need to help Captain Cosmic and Astra," he said and shouldered it.
Ember dragged him to the positions of Captain Cosmic and Astra. In Ember's mind, Ugh! Broden seems to have forgotten that the two are partners. Azure was so worried about Amethyst he took a deep breath and made her mouth wide before their lips touched against each other. He does chest compressions only at 100-120 per minute. He let her chest rise completely between his pushes. Her lips were faded and lifeless. Amethyst finally spilled the water from her mouth after 3 sessions. She was so exhausted.
Ember saw everything about how he kissed Amethyst. She can't focus on the game because of him, but she just continued to hit Olagarro to end this task fast.
"H-hey," Azure greeted her worriedly.
Azure's face greeted her when she opened her eyes. He was so worried, touching her cheek using his palm before he spoke.
"Hey," she said, weakly.
"Are you okay?"
"Tell me?"
"Is anything hurt?" he successively asked.
"Don't worry," Amethyst answered.
She smiled and held his hand that was now holding her cheek. Azure is her saviour, she can't deny it, and she was thankful about it.
"They need you," Amethyst said.
"We can do this task, and we can overcome it," she added.
"They can do it, don't worry," Azure said and held her cold palm.

Whoosh!
Captain Cosmic already cut the remaining tentacles of those sea creatures. It has no hands and feet left, so it is useless as its tentacles fell into the water and some parts were on their ship. The Olagarro head finally fell down to their ship and instantly vanished like a water pop in.
"Oh no, HOMEY, we do it!" Broden said. He sounded like a winner.
Ember raised her left eyebrow and smirked, "Bye, Sea creature, hello level 17,"
"Hah, I thought it would be a long fight, but I'm correct," Captain Cosmic said.
Happiness can be seen on everyone's face. They successfully completed the task. This seems to be cleared after the task is over. Amethyst was also the key to success and everything went well. But not that easy for them. Especially for Amethyst who is in good shape now. They approached the two who were busy talking and greeted them with smiles.
"Thank you, Captain Cosmic," Azure thanked.
"Nah, I did nothing, in fact you two carried us," Capital Cosmic said. He rolled his shoulders.
"We are ashamed of you Azure, Amethyst, Ember, and Broden here, we are older than you, but lift us," Astra exclaimed, and she looked at them one by one.
"Hey, guys, I think we need to go?" Broden sniff, smelling the fishy smell.
"I agree," Ember said and gave them a half smile.
Each hologram pops up. Telling them that they're completed their task.

Each individual level bar showed and increased by two points based on what it said. And their star also changed color from white to brown. It means they have been tainted by the fight from the white star who has not been tainted by any other fight in short purity. They went back to the shore because their task was done. The four get off the ship and they are surprised because Captain Cosmic and Astra did not follow them.
"We go first, we are travelers, we always use this ship every time we go on a task," Captain Cosmic explained.
"Good luck," he added.
"Adios young people, good luck," Astra waved at them.
"Keep safe, Captain," Amethyst shouted and smiled.
"Bye, Nigga," Broden also shouted, cupping his hand.
The ship once again sailed to the deep sea. They will never forget them because they became good teammates in just a short time.
