The Killing TimeJonah was pleased that Vera was in the company of people that he could trust. It turned out that Liz's horticultural therapy actually did assist her, and in short order, the women were clearly on the path to become good friends. Then again, that was just Liz. You couldn't be around her and not instantly love her. Alvin and Bobby were friendly as well, and Malcolm always made people feel at peace, so that was also a good sign. Vera even made a new friend in the herald that Jonah had seen her with in the gazebo, which was named Naphtali. All in all, Jonah had full belief that Vera would be protected at the estate.
