I had made it into town, Alena fell asleep hours ago, and that girl can sleep. We definitely needed an escape, and god knows Alena needs it more than me.

She's such a sweet girl and very well-spoken, you can always feel the love she gives, but lately she's smiling and I know it's fake, she hides her sadness and pain, I know she dosen't want to worry me. Dealing with what happened at home its hard. Alena was always the perfect child, she was always kind and loving, but she needed to be.

I always admire her for it, when I would fight with my parents about dumb stuff like coming home drunk or coming home days later, she would always come and talk to me, encourage me to forgive, and even have me apologize. Don't get me wrong I loved my parents. My parents were amazing people I just wished I had cherished them a little more. No matter how amazing you are death will catch up to you, and when you least expect it you'll be gone one day.

I drive by some woods and a few houses here and there. Droplets of water hit my windshield "Shit." Great it's dark and there's rarely any street lights. I was passing through a neighborhood I glance over to Alena still sleeping, looking up I pump the breaks as fast as I can. "Fuck." I almost hit a girl standing in the road, I come to a stop careful not to hit her she looks like she had been running, she looked shocked and terrified. She stops right in front of my truck and slowly walks closer.

Great, first day here and s**t like this happens, I could have run over this girl. I can't really see the girls face, I look over to the passengers side to see a wide awake Alena. She looks over at me and says "help her." her focus now on the girl. I nod to her and step out the car.

"Hey, are you okay ? " I worriedly ask.

Unable to see her clearly,moving a little closer to see her better.I took a step back so that I don't scare her. She looks about the same age as Alena. She has really bold features, she had some kind of 50s look to her almost like that chick from that romance movie Breakfast at Tiffany's, Alena always made me watch chick flicks with her which paid off, if you know what I mean, girls dig that s**t. Her eyes are hazel, like a mixture of hazelnut and green tea and her hair is the color of Brown-Red, She was breathtaking, but also so young and thats something I can't get myself into. She stares up at me almost as if she relieved to see me, she looks into my eyes and stares at me. She opens her mouth, she was going to speak but nothing comes out of her mouth.

She was about to fall when I quickly caught her before she hit the ground completely.

"Hey, you okay" I gently say, she looks like she's in some sort of trance.

"Handsome" she blurts out I look down at her. Wow she's beautiful, you can tell she was slightly embarrassed because her body tensed up. I noticed she looked kinda weak, she gently grabs my arm.

"I'm Rosa" she mutters before she blacked out in my arms. I pick her up bridal style, she seemed like she had been running from something, I quickly take a look around me making sure nothings around us. I walk to the truck opening the passenger door, Alena moves to the driver's seat, I look up at her and say "You drive." She nods

I place Rosa in the truck and head back to the front of my truck I saw rosa drop her bag earlier I grab it and run back into the car giving it to Alena I hop in and make sure to place Rosa into my lap.

"Hey, look through her bag see if there's a phone or something" I say

Alena mouths "okay"

I look at Rosa wondering what she was running from more like from who. Alena hands me her phone, a girl without a password, weird. Alena takes it from me and finds Rosa's fathers number. I stare at Alena and she looks at me, handing the phone to me. I Press his number, after a few rings he answers .

"ROSA!, where are you," he shouts, you could hear he was really worried.

"ah no sir, my names Agustin Rayer, uh my sister and I just moved here and well I ran across Rosa, she fainted, we have her here, the rain is pretty bad outside." I say.

"oh thank god, Mr. Rayer aren't you the new detective that transferred from NewYork." he says.

"yes" I state.

"well pleased to meet you, I'm sheriff Vista but please call me Mike, pleasure to have you with us. Look, son, I'm on duty and most of the roads are closed for the night due to a lot of accidents and no one knows when the rain will stop they say its a hurricane, its weird we haven't been hit in a while and I'm just outside Creek View. Do me a favor and watch over Rosa, I trust you." he says.

"Okay sir, anything she needs my sister is about her age, she can share with her. I will make sure to watch over her." I say politely.

"okay son make sure you watch out now and don't stay too long out in the night ill make sure to call and inform you whats going on out here. I don't think the stations open only a few officers are working, when do you start."

" I was going to start on Monday." I quickly say as i glance over at Alena who is driving along the road, making sure she's watching the road carefully.

"Okay son, i'll keep you posted, tell Rosa I love her and hey, you take care of her son, you hear me." he says.

"that's a threat boy" he laughs.

I smile "Okay, will do, bye sir" I end the call.

"Looks like we made a new friend, She will be staying with us." I smile at Alena as she nods.

my attention goes back on Rosa. I know it's wrong but I'm so curious about this girl, I know I'm going to get into some deep s**t if I try anything stupid, I need to distance myself a bit.
