It's four weeks of nothing but silent peace. We spend the days with Lola's family, having picnics out in the sun and playing board games in the evening like every other normal suburban family.
I f**k my wife every night. Slowly, leisurely able to trace every inch of her naked skin with my tongue. We're happy, but of course no amount of happiness can last for long. Not in our world at least.
I'm thrown off the second storey balcony as the Earth begins to shake. My back slams against the hard concentrate, the force shattering my spine. I'm paralysed.
"Lucien! Lucien!" I hear Lola scream, running towards the balcony ledge.
"Stop." I managed to get out, watching her feet come to a sudden halt as she teeters near the edge of the broken floor.
