Remington's POV-
I opened the half door, just enough to slip my body through. The creature continued to growl, so I stilled my movements to give my eyes a moment to adjust. The inside of the barn was still dark enough that I struggled to make out the creature in the stall. After a moment, I could see faint wisps of smoke floating away from the creature's skin. I crouched down slightly and took a tentative step forward.
"I promise I don't want to hurt you. I know you probably can't understand me, but I'm just going to take those chains off of you." The creature's growl intensified, but I took another step forward.
