My First Vision of my Father

949 Words
I open my eyes just as the sun just starting to rise in the sky. I look down to see SugarCube still fast asleep, on my chest. I smile and hold her with my hand as I sit up. Her little ears move in her sleep, as I giggle lightly. I get out of bed and put her in her little cage, with the door still open. As I turn to Cookie, she looks back at me, wide awake. I slowly walk over to her, giving her a gentle pat on her head. I then walk over to my closet, getting my uniform for school ready, laying them out on my bed. Then I wash my face in my bathroom, applying only a little bit of makeup. I add a little blush, eyeliner, eye shadow and last but not least, lip gloss. I brush out my hair, putting a few ponytail holders on my wrist in case I need them. I walk over to my huge jewelry box is. I say a spell to unlock it so I can get my family ring with a matching necklace.     The ring is a moonstone next to a crescent moon. The moonstone is very powerful in my families hands, by increasing our power. This ring has been in my mother's side of the family for centuries. As for my father's side, I am not certain. With my 16th birthday coming up, I should start wearing it more often. I slide the ring on my finger and then put the matching necklace around my neck. My eyes fall on an anklet that my mother said was my father. It had blood-red rubies in the shape of stars in a silver chain. I stroke the rubies, wishing I knew my father. As I do, a vision pops in my head. My body goes still, barely breathing as I focus on what I saw. A dark figure, with my amethyst colored eyes and hair so black, it looked blue. He was tall with wide shoulders. His hair went to his shoulders and looked very soft, even from afar. He was wearing a dark red long coat and black boots.     I took my fingers off the stones and I was in my room again. I blink as I turn my head over to Cookie. She was staring at me as if she knew I just had a vision. My mouth moves, but no words come out.     As soon as I take my next breath, my crystal ball chimes. I put the anklet on as I stand to answer it. My mother's image shines above the ball. Her soft silver hair down around her shoulders, all soft and shiny. Her gaze on me softens and even her lips curve into a slight smile.     "Merry meet my beautiful daughter." Her sweet but strong voice sounds rather sad in the early morning. I bow as is custom to the high priestess.     "Merry meet my Lady. How are you?" My respect sounding sad and clear, more than my love for the woman. I raise my eyes just enough to see her frown.     "My daughter, I felt my spell around you change. Did your body go through a change? Your aura says you are confused. Talk to me, my daughter." Her voice was soft, I felt compelled to tell her about it.     "Yes mother, my vampire side came out last night. Cookie told me that it would happen and that I should stay calm. My hair turned blue, my eyes red, my canines grew down and some of my body parts grew at least 2 sizes... Who is my father, mother? Why isn't he here?" My voice shakes as a few tears fall down my face. I usually didn't cry in front of my mother but I was desperate. I wanted to know, whether or not my mother told me was another story entirely.     The sound of my mother breathing in was the only thing I heard. As I glance up at her image, a few tears fall from her lashes. I gasp, thinking "My mother, crying? She never cries." She wipes away the tears as she clears her throat.     "Oh honey, I was hoping you would be older before you had your first change. As well as before you asked about your father. But since you have, I will tell you a little, but later. You have school to get to. I love you and I promise to call you when you get home. Blessed be my daughter." My crystal ball stopped glowing and her image disappeared.     I just sit in front of it, dumbfounded that she was willing to tell me without a fight. Realizing the time, I get dressed, give SugarCube and Cookie their breakfast, a quick kiss on their heads and go to the kitchen. Minnie already has a coffee mug of warm blood and a chocolate muffin ready for me on the table. I smile and give her a hug as I grab them and jog to the door to get my shoes on. Sam is by the door as I grab my school jacket and backpack. He opens as I get close and gives me a smile saying "Have a good day at school Mi'lady"     "Thank you Sam. See you later." I tell him as I sprint down to the gate and jump over it. The guard just shakes his head and mutters "Very unladylike" but I didn't reply. I ran about a mile before I came to the portal that will take me to the hidden school in the forest. I eat my muffin and chug the blood before I am five feet away.
