“How are you?” Adalia asked, now that enough time had passed to make the question genuine again. “I’m fine. Healthy as a horse, back on track. Even got me a date tonight.” He grinned and accepted the hot cup of coffee. Adalia poured what was left of the coffee into her cup – just enough so she wouldn’t have to make more – and stirred it lazily. “That’s great, Dad. I’m really happy for you.” How would she even begin to broach the topic of the baby with him? God, he still didn’t trust Trent after all this time. What if he rejected his grandbaby? She licked her lips nervously. “And how’s the business?” “Going good... just fine really. Making enough to pay the bills and a little extra. Saving it for a rainy day, though I don’t know what kind, since I don’t plan on retiring any time soon.”
