August 1869
The morning after Cat, Gabe, and Koi headed back to Freedom Town, Grant, Rufus, Dale, and Fernando sat on the little porch drinking coffee and chatting. Rufus said, “Grant, Gloria, and I have been talking about staying out here. Seems like this is still a dangerous place, and we would like to help out. Besides, if a grandbaby comes along, y’all won’t be able to keep Gloria away. What do you think about that idea?”
Grant responded, “We would love it! What about the freighting?”
