Maeve did not leave Auden's office, constantly moving from one spot to another. Auden was obviously exhausted by her presence and the more he urged her to leave, the longer Maeve stayed. In the end, Auden decided to ignore her and continued working.
After several hours, Maeve finally announced her departure at the same moment Auden stood up from his chair and turned to face the window.
"Do you want me to buy you dinner?" she inquired as she approached him.
"No," Auden replied in a flat tone, not bothering to look at her.
"Alright, darling." Maeve flashed him a sweet smile before standing on her tiptoes and planting a kiss on Auden's cheek. He still did not acknowledge her, and couldn't wait for her to leave.
"Talk to you later, honey." With that, Maeve exited Auden's office.
