Chapter 5: Your name is pretty
Back in Lyrielle's class. The class was still rowdy and no teacher had entered yet. Fortunately,the bees of the class didn't resume today,else,no one would be spared from their bickering.
Finally,the first teacher for the day entered. Sure enough,it was math. They had a history class after that and the principal entered the class right before break. The students were somehow expecting this.
There was a long standing theory that in every final year class, a new student must arrive. Whether real life,or fiction or fantasy... We just want a new kid in town.
And so the moment everyone had unknowingly been waiting for finally arrived.
The principal adjusted his glasses and greeter the students.
"Good morning students!"
"Good morning Principal White ", a few students lazily replied.
"You all are welcome to another semester. As you all know ,this one is a very important one in your lives,so you better take it seriously ", he delivered his usual speech.
He suddenly furrowed his brows,"Where's Mia and her cahoots?",he asked. Everyone knew that he was referring to the school's queen bee.
"Absent",someone lazily replied.
Mr White cleared his throat
"Okay then. We'll have a new student joining you all tomorrow....",he paused to see the reaction of the students. And sure enough....
"Pshaw! Terrible spoiler!"
" Couldn't he just start today?"
"Why the fuss? Maybe he's not even that special "
"You're right about that"
"So you'll know when you see him tomorrow and you better be good or you regret it ", he concluded and left the class.
The class was left in confusion.
"What does he mean by that?"
"Is his family that rich and powerful?"
"Why didn't he go to the VIP class?"
"Whatever,I have a hunch he's gonna be important "
"(Scoff) Ironically I do not think so".
Lyrielle put on her earphones and lay her head on her table,feeling a little dizzy.

It was lunch time. And Scarlett went to the cafeteria to eat alone,as usual, except that today she only bought a strawberry sweetened milk drink. She kept receiving weird stares as she went to take her seat,but she wasn't bothered. They better get used to seeing her pretty face. She leisurely played on her phone while eating and soon, a pretty faced guy approached her seat.
The cafeteria erupted in murmurs.
"Oh mi gosh! It's senior Jayden!"
"He looks so handsome today"
"Why is he going to sit with her?"
"Come to think of it,I've never seen her before "
"I have! She's in our class"
"Really? She's so pretty "
"Oh please! I think she's petty, seducing her senior"
"He's attracted to her duh. It not her fault she's pretty "
Although Scarlett had her earphones on,she could pretty much hear what everyone was saying. That was strange. Even if she didn't have music on,how could she hear literally everyone's words so clearly and loudly. It seemed so loud,even though they were just murmurs that she glared at anyone she could see whispering,and true enough,they quieted down.
Scarlett sighed and sipped her milk. And continued pressing her phone,not even bothering to check out the guy who had just sat opposite her.
Jayden cleared his throat," Uhm... Sorry. Can I sit here?"
Scarlett didn't look up, " You're already sitting. Besides.....", she finally looked up from her phone and her gaze met a handsome face. Although she also acknowledges beauty,she was good at concealing her emotions, so she had only an indifferent gaze on her face.
Jayden knew that she was a pretty girl before he came to sit with her. And although he only sat with her because he also preferred eating alone,and there was no other empty seat,he was taken aback by the pair of eyes that met him.
Scarlett was a fierce but cold beauty. A kind that could make men crave you and hate you. He could almost swear that he could smell the fragrance of her aura.
"... I have no control over where anyone choses to sit", Scarlett completed and Jayden snapped out of his trance.
He nodded slightly,trying to hide his uneasiness. He hoped Scarlett didn't catch him staring.
But she did,and he didn't notice the faint smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
"Are you new?" , Jayden asked
Scarlett shook her head ,her doe eyes wide open which made it easier to capture anyone's attention.
"I do not expect senior Jayden to know me,since I'm just a junior", Scarlett replied.
Jayden gave a faint smile," Well... You don't look like one"
"Is that supposed to be a compliment?", Scarlett raised her brows.
"Take it however you like", Jayden said and stood up,he really didn't eat. Just a drink and he was also done.
"See you around miss....",he drawled, waiting for her to respond.
Scarlett sipped leisurely on her drink.
"Scarlett. Scarlett Williams ", she replied.
This time, Scarlett didn't notice that Jayden's gaze on her darkened and he hesitated for a moment, his gaze lingering on her ,as if trying to capture every detail of her features into his memory.
Scarlett raised a brow, "Is there anything wrong?"
Jayden smiled tightly, "No... Nothing....", His gaze was still fixed intensely on her.
"I just think your name is as pretty as you are"
