Night fell heavier than usual.
Alara’s condition worsened. She could barely keep food down—not fruit, not water. Eventually, exhaustion overtook her, and she collapsed on the couch. The girls gathered around her, worry written across their faces.
“Do you know what’s wrong with her?” Anika asked quietly.
Mei shook her head, fear creeping into her voice. She would usually make light jokes ,but ,she was sweating, biting her finger nails, almost to the brink of non-existence.
“No… maybe it’s something she ate… or something in the air. I don’t know. Maybe a new illness has appeared now that the Earth has changed. What if it spreads to us?”
A tense silence followed, broken only by the soft hum of the bunker’s filtration system. Fear rippled through the girls, their imaginations filling in the unknown dangers outside.
Zero stepped forward.
“Stop,” he said firmly. “We’re overthinking this.”
He approached Alara carefully, placing a hand on her forehead. Warm, but not alarming.
“She’s running a mild temperature,” he said, calm. “No coughing. No rash. Just vomiting. Probably a stomach bug. It’ll pass.”
He had attained health classes during hes training, her symptoms, seem to be related to food poisoning, but why now, how long have they been drinking and eating the food in bunker, long before he came, something isnt right.
Maybe Grohanva abandoned them and poisoned them.
To make it worse,Alara had been acting strange, the same way how a thief would, but it Zero brushes it off,hes never beeen good at understanding woman, he couldnt even understand he's own.
Beth
hes heart ached, its been a while since he thought of her.
he shakes his haead as if hes trying to shake the thought of her smile, her body out of his head.,he turns his attention back to girls,He cant lose focus for a minute.
The girls exhaled, relief washing over them briefly.
Aya, never patient, leaned in close.
“Tomorrow, we attack Grohanva,” she whispered.she has grown more wary of whats to come ,she had managed to successfully put everyone on edge.
Mei rolled her eyes.
Aya and Mei friendshop has fgrown tense and has affected decision, making, All Zero could do was watch, he knew better than get involved in women's dissputes.
He had two older sisters,Gwen and Tracy ,they both died before the earth had become a resource center for the Kahrin.
“Oh, Aya. Calm down. We need a plan. We don’t even know where he is.”
Mei added, “We wait until he comes back. When he tries to take one of us, that’s when we act.”
Aya opened her mouth to argue, but Zero cut her off.
“Shh.”
Then the sound came.
Footsteps. Heavy. Fast. Rushing,as if a giant was about to attack them.
Zero tensed, instincts flaring.
“All of you—hide. Now.”he shouts
They barely had time to move.
The doors burst open with a deafening bang, metal screaming as the hinges tore.
A roar filled the air—low, guttural, animalistic, and terrifying.
The girls screamed, in fear .
Anika shakes Alara from her sleep and bring hers to her feet.
Zero felt the blade surge beneath his skin, alive and hungry, ready to strike.
he glared at the alien that stood before him ,bearing razor like teeth he never knew he had ,but it would be nothing to him,he could se those exact teeth to make a necklace,to sybmolism he's first alien prey.
Outside, the storm had arrived.
