The day she left Albert’s castle, she got hit by a car but luckily for her, the man drove her to the hospital, paid her bills and went on his way.
When she was strong enough, she tried to reach out to Albert.
“You left on your own accord. I have no use for you anymore though.” Those were his words before he hung up the phone on her.
Shattered already, she got even more heartbroken. It was obvious that her life meant nothing to anyone and she blamed the moon goddess for neglecting her.
Fortunately, the man who had hit her came to check on her and when he heard her story, he decided to take her to his place.
This man was a lone werewolf but very rich and powerful. He immediately adopted her as his only child and daughter and after his death, all his wealth were entrusted to her, giving her the breakthrough she needed and longed for.

Five years after
Sophie is no longer the weak young girl she used to be. She has rose to attain a lot of power both in wealth and in strength.
Day by day, Sophie could not bring herself to forgive everyone who had wronged her and she vowed to have her revenge somehow, someday.
How happy she was when the opportunity presented itself to her on a platter of gold.
“Ma’am, you have been invited to a charity event.” Her assistant announced to her.
While sipping gently from the glass in her hand, she replied; “You know I am on my free days. I do not want to get involved with any business, you should handle it all.”
“Ok ma. But you need to sign the invitation.”
“Bring it over here.”
As she made to sign the paper, her hand froze midair, her eye had caught something interesting.
“Albert Cain will be in attendance.” She said softly with a smile forming at the corner of her lips.
“You know what? Tell them I will be attending the event myself.” She signed and pushed the paper back to her assistant.
“But what about your free days?”
“For this? I can miss a few days. Get ready, we are going to give back to them.” She said with a smirk.
The assistant who understands nothing of the situation left the room.
Sophie let out a long sigh; “At last, my time has come.” She ended the statement with an hearty laugh.

On the day of the event, Sophie dresses elegantly as befitting her status and slapped on a colorful mask on her face; a deliberate act to augment her plan.
With her assistant trailing along, they arrived at the hall late after the event had started; an intentional act to make sure everyone was around to notice her entrance.
“Now, the donations can start.” The announcer’s voice boomed over the mic.
Everyone started announcing their donation amount and after every other person was done, Sophie whispered something to her assistant to tell the announcer.
“12million?” He could not believe his ears. The highest anyone has donated was 5million. Not even Albert could give such amount.
As expected and planned, all attention were turned towards her where she sat down elegantly in her glory but the mask made her identity hidden.
A thunderous applause followed the rising murmurs but she was not moved by that; she had a bigger fish to fry.
The cocktail party was immediately after the donation and every pack leader was trying to get close to this new mysterious wealthy woman but she directed everyone to her assistant until Albert came along.
“Hello.” He said, smiling in a way that showed all his teeth gracefully but Sophie was not impressed.
“How could he sleep at night knowing what he did to me?” She thought to herself, wrapping her fingers tightly around the champagne glass to calm herself.
“Ooh, hi.” She replied casually.
Her assistant made to attend to him as she did others but she stopped her.
“Let me take this one. Go enjoy the party.”
“That was quite a feat you pulled there.” He continued, choosing his words slowly, trying not to offend this powerful woman.
Sophie laughed elegantly; “I just believe in giving, what goes around comes around.” A subtle message for him.
“You are absolutely right. As part of this event’s organizers, that is one of our reasons.” He explained, smiling with all of his teeth again.
He looked charming but she was well out of the grip of his beauty.
“It is a nice one.” She complimented, sipping from her wine.
“Pardon me. I am Albert, Albert Cain.”
He extended his hand for a shake and she took it in a firm and the most polite way she could, trying to calm her nerves and not reveal herself to him on that spot.
“Nice meeting you. I am Jane.”
“Jane. I have not been seeing you at the fundraising even though we hold it every year.”
“My father attends while I take care of business in his absence.” She spoke with such authority that it was not hard to figure out how much power she holds.
“Ooh, is he here? I would love to meet him.”
“He is dead.” She said bluntly.
For her, her tone of speaking to Albert whose voice once made her tremble but now his words doesn’t have effect on her; it made her feel so good, the tone of liberation on her tongue.
“I am sorry to hear that.”
After discussing for a while, Albert asked for her contact to discuss business later and she gladly gave it to him; making him feel important that he did not have to go through her assistant; little did he know what he was getting into; walking right into a trap.

Back at his castle, Albert could not stop thinking about the mysterious lady he had met. He kept scoffing and giggling, trying to figure out who she was.
His uneasiness was soon noticed by Zora; his ex whom he had reunited with sometime before Sophie left five years ago. They haven’t officially become mates accordingly but she stays in his castle.
“Why are you giggling?” She asked him. Not fully interested in whatever he has to say.
“I had a surprising experience today at the fundraising event. A lady….”
“Ooh. I would not want to know about about that. I am off to the mall.” She cut him short.
Zora has never been interested in Albert’s business, all she does was to spend his money and attend parties. But Albert was in no mood to trade words with her that afternoon.
He simply nodded. Minutes after she was gone, he picked up his phone and gave Jane(Sophie) a call and although he just met her, he was feeling a sense of familiarity he could not shake off.
They agreed to meet up later for further discussions on business and he was really eager to meet up with her once more.

On their way home, her assistant could not stop wondering why her boss had acted mysterious throughout the event and she asked but Sophie asked her to wait.
Once they got home, Sophie calmly explained to her everything that happened and at that point, the assistant also felt a sense of resentment towards Albert.
“I am really short of words. How can people be so callous? And your own parents too?”
Sophie was about to respond when her phone rang and she picked it up; it was Albert. After the call, she turned to Mary, her assistant.
“That was him.” She crossed her legs in a bossy manner, swirling her chair from left to right.
“If I may ask, what do you plan on doing ma’am?”
An evil smile registered on her face.
“Ooh Mary, I have it all planned out.”…..
