I'm just sitting in the car still flabbergasted about my father's confession of wanting to marry me off to his long-time friend. I don't even know how to feel about this, angry, sad, hurt, disgusted, just so many emotions going thru me that I have no response to my father now. "Mi hija, I know this isn't what you want to do, but you will be helping the restaurant with the expansion that you were talking about, but it does have to be thru marriage." At that point, I just blew up on my father. "Why papi does it have to be thru marriage, do you think I'm not capable to run the business on my own or to expand the restaurant, if I have to be married to make partner in our family restaurant then I don't want it anymore," I said to my father. He looked over at me with a shocked expression on his face. Like I said, the most disrespectful thing in the world. If he wanted to marry somebody off, it should be my brother, not me. "and another thing why can't I find someone for myself, why are choosing him for me, how do you even know he will be a good husband to me, he might be a cheater, an addict, he even might be an abuser, you don't even know him fully, your just willing trusting and taking your best friends word for it, its not right papi." I noticed we were in front of the restaurant, I didn't even realize that we were already here, I got out of the car and started walking, I didn't want have nothing to do with the restaurant today, I hear my father yelling at me to get back here so we can start talking like adults but at no point did I want to return to start talking to him like an adult, he made choices for me that I should have made as an adult but he is treating me like a child. I don't even know where I was walking until I realized I was at the park, not that far from the restaurant, but it put a good distance away from my father. I sat down on the little bench and just stared out at the little pond watching the ducks swim around, with out a care in the world. I'm so lost in thought on what to do about this whole marriage ordeal, I didn't notice someone sitting by me he is pretty good looking with his black hair, full pink lips, nice trimmed mustache. I wonder what his eye color is but I wouldn't know he got on sunglasses come to think of it he is just covered head to toe like he is afraid of the sun or something or he might have a condition or something, I don't know but let me stop staring at him or he going to think I'm a pervert or something, ha yeah right me a pervert I haven't even talked to any boys or a man so I doubt I would be a pervert in someone's mind. It's so odd that I can't stop staring at him,it's like I'm drawn to him or something, I don't even know him. It's just a feeling I have, like I know him from some where but I doubt that, I have only know three places that I encounter on a daily bases and that's home, school or restaurant that's it, so the park is a new place for me. I'm so deep in thought I don't even hear the gentleman speak, but surely he wasn't speaking to me. I go back to thinking about what to do until I hear "What brings you out here so early in the morning," "I'm sorry are you speaking to me," I said to the gentleman. "You and I are the only ones out here, so it is just you I'm speaking to," he said back to me. "Well, I just got into an argument with my father, and I needed to clear my head before I started work. What brings you out here," I asked him. "I was in a disagreement with my father and brothers as well, so I needed to get away for a bit," he said. "That must be the theme of the day to get into disagreement and arguments with our superiors, I bet it was about your life, I presume" he just nodded his head to my question, "well it was nice chatting with you mister but I should head back and face my father's wrath before he sends a search party for me," I laughed to myself. I stood up and started walking back to the restaurant, I turned my head back to see if the nice man was still sitting on the bench, but it he wasn't. "That was a nice man," I thought to myself.
