Destiny 3

I was walking back to the restaurant, still thinking about that man I had a conversation with, even though it was pretty quick, it was still nice. I wonder if the betrothed of mine will be a good listener or not. I get to the restaurant, open up the door, and it's not too busy, thank goodness cause that would have been really bad if it was. I see my sister Carmen coming towards me. She grabs my arm to take me to the back patio. "Sis are okay. Papa was so worried about you after the conversation you guys had," she asked me. I love my big sister Carmen. Even though she is the second oldest, she understands how I feel. I just gave my sister a hug, "Whoa kiddo, you okay?" she asked me. I love it when she calls me kiddo, I think about when she first called me that. I was about five and was running so fast that I tripped and fell, and the first thing my sister said to me was "kiddo you alright," that just made me feel ten times better. I said to my sister, "I don't want to get married to somebody I don't know, nor should I get married just to make partner in our family business," I told my sister. I started crying after I expressed how I'm feeling, she just rubbed my back and told me that she would figure something out and speak to Papa about it. I love my sister Carmen she is a life savior she just knows the right thing to say when I'm feeling down. I wiped my tears away from my face, and my sister asked me, "Are you feeling better now?" "Yes, I am." We started walking back into the restaurant, I see are other sister Louisa coming towards us and she just gives me a big hug, im so shocked and confused about her hug that I dont even hug back, I have a shocked expression on my face that it mirrors my sister Carmen's as well. Louisa let me go from her hug, she said "I am so proud of you," I was absolutely stunned, my jaw hit the floor, I get ready to ask her what she means but she continued and said "Destiny you always have been truthful and honest about what you want and what you want to do with our family business, you have the drive to take it places the me or Carmen can't do, what I am saying is that I don't agree with papa with you getting married," she said to me. Once again I'm shocked, I mean my sister always listened to papa, she never really went against him or spoke back to him like I do, so hearing her say she is proud of me makes me happy. I go and give her a hug and tell her "I was just saying what I felt was right and I was being truthful about stepping away from the family business if I have to get married," I told Louisa. Louisa and Carmen both nodded their heads in agreement, Carmen then said, " Hermana, if you do leave the family business. I know that you would be able to start your own business from the ground up, and I would stand by you when you do start up your own." I give both my sisters a hug and thank them again. The three of us went to the kitchen so we could start our shift, its lunch time rush and boy do we get busy, people just love our tamales, smothered burritos and are street tacos. The smell of the food just calms my nerves, I brought out the first order to a family of six they had ordered the carna salda street tacos and different drinks. I love it when I am able to bring a smile to family faces when they enjoy eating the food we cook it just feels my heart with joy. I always knew I wanted to run the restaurant, I have great ideas for it but knowing that my father wants to marry me off just to become partner in our restaurant that was built from the ground up by Abuela is not okay. I wonder if something happened, and that's why he wants to marry me off to his friend's son. I bet he doesn't even know how to run a business, he just might be some playboy and want an arm candy as a wife, I continue thinking about who this guy is when I look up and see the mystery man I seen earlier enter into the restaurant followed by two other men. They go sit in the corner booth, which is my section I attend to. I pass out the menus to them, then ask, "Would you like something to drink?" One of the guys just said "two waters for now." I walked off to get their waters. Hopefully, they will order by the time I get back.
