My ambition after high school is to be an engineer, but my parents enrolled me in an education program. I really wanted to be an engineer because it appears that engineering is a field that requires more knowledge. And I like it because I like a range of difficulties. Being an engineer is a true honor, and that is what I like the most. In the second semester of 2004, I resolved to abandon my education course and focus on my engineering ambitions. Fortunately, I was able to persuade my parents to support my decision. As a result, I was overjoyed. To be honest, neither mathematics nor problem solving are my strong suits. Back in high school, I relied only on the answers of my classmates. Without hesitation, I would be struggling in math although I loved engineering because I really like it by name Engineer and nothing else. So I switched from Bukidnon State University in Oroquieta to Jose Rizal Memorial State University in Dapitan City. I am a highly ambitious and self-assured person, so I stepped into the dean's office of the engineering department without hesitation to put my name on the list. I'm not aware that the dean will conduct an interview with me and ask me to do some mathematical problems. He first asked my name, to which I firmly replied MAE FRANDEL MEDINA. He then questioned why I transferred, to which I said that it was really my desire to be an engineer someday, and my parents had only decided on my course at first, but it turned out it wasn't beneficial for me. Then he requested for my transcript of records to view my math grades, which I luckily forgot to bring because my math grades are quite poor. So, the dean basically asked, "Do you think it's good?" so I said yes, and the dean said, "Well, then, let me ask you some basic mathematical expressions." I was taken aback, and I wasn't prepared for it. The dean asked a simple question to me: what is 5-5+((5*5)/5)? My entire universe stopped. Then I responded with a five? It wasn't my answer because I was only asking him a question, but he grinned and said "very excellent!" So I was taken aback since it was the response and I hadn't expected it. I was meant to clarify five for him, but he assumed it was already done and answered. So that's why I engaged in engineering class.
