chapter Two

766 Words
Isabella’s Pov I hear a engine turn off and slowly look out my window curtains I see two men one who I’ve seen before at the house next door when I have to go to the grocery shopping or am forced to leave my house. The other guy I’ve never seen before He stands out easily at 6’2”, his height giving him a commanding presence. His jet-black hair is styled in a casual yet effortless way, complementing his laid-back demeanor. He’s dressed simply but stylishly in faded blue jeans and a black hoodie that fits him perfectly, hinting at a casual confidence. The hoodie, with its soft fabric, seems to accentuate his build, while the jeans offer a relaxed yet put-together look. There’s something intriguing about the contrast between his understated outfit and the striking intensity of his blue eyes, making him look both approachable and captivating. Hes getting into the black dodge that’s been sitting across the road for a week now and acting like he’s never seen a vehicle before. He looks up and his eyes meet mine and I shut the curtains and run upstairs to barricade myself in my room. I pull a book of the shelf my favorite one “what I would do for you” by willow winters. I start reading and getting lost in the book the scenes take me away and I feel like a completely different person only issue is it reminds me of how alone I am. After reading a couple chapter I make my way down to the fridge to look for something to eat I groan when I notice I’m out of food so I’ll have to make a quick stop at the grocery store. I grab my keys and throw on a hoodie to cover my head I slip on my shoes and I’m out the door. I wanted e to walk but when i get outside I notice the guy is still here so I assume he’s my new neighbor he’s sitting on the porch staring over at my house so I decide to drive since it’ll be easier to avoid him but my car has a mind of its own today and is refusing to turn over. I scream and slam my hands into steering wheel tears streaming down my face when I hear a tap on my glass. Looking up I notice the guy standing outside my car I look back down and pretend to ignore him but he doesn’t move and just points at the hood. I push the button and the hood pops open. He walks around my car pushes on something and tells me try again I push the key in the ignition and it starts. He taps back on the glass and I roll down my window still looking at the floor of my car. “ The battery cable slipped off I’m going to get a tool to tighten it so it’ll stay don’t move”. I don’t say a word but watch in the rear view mirrors as he retreats to his house coming back with a black case. He walks back in front of the car taking out a tool and tightens the battery cable. He slams the hood and walks back over to the window “you should be good to go”. I roll down my window to try and thank him but the words just won’t come out so instead I nod. He turns around and walks back to his house probably assuming I’m mute or some s**t. “ Thanks” I whisper under my breath I could of sworn I heard him chuckle but there’s no way he heard me right. I make it to the grocery store before they close and grab a few different things. When I notice the tiny black truck sitting on the shelf it looks just like the giant one across the road from my house I pick it up and put it on the conveyor I pay for my groceries and head out to my car. It’s 9 by the time I get home and the street lights have finally come on I look over at the house across the road and notice the lights in the house are off I grab the little black truck and walk over to his house and place it on the front porch walking back slowly I keep glancing at the house and remembering the man who had helped me as I walk back into my house I can’t accept but feel lonely.
