After a mere ten days of being married to him, Anneliese now found herself missing him when he was not around, which had been a lot lately.
Ever since the nightmare that she’d woken up from crying, he’d been standoffish.
They still had their morning rides and still did their rounds with Athos but then he would disappear for the rest of the day into the library or into the secret passages, only appearing for meals.
She knew he was worried—very much so—about the secret passages which he was sure the saboteur was using to access her rooms. And he was taking every precaution to map the newly discovered section of the castle, installing cameras and alarms with only Thomson, Stephan, and McDermott to help him.
