33 Friday, February 12, 2016 As Hugh dried his face, he glanced out the bathroom window. A thick, pearly mist covered the landscape, so thick he could barely see the patterns of the hedge garden a few feet below his window. The sun wasn’t ready to rise yet, but the day was already graying. His eyes narrowed as he saw a human form moving away from the house in the direction of the castle moat. A man. Stephan? Where the devil was he going at this hour in the moat? He threw on clothing with a carelessness that would have appalled Thomson, then raced downstairs and outside into the foggy dawn.
