Chapter 4

"We need to dissect his network," Gabriella saw, her voice low but firm as she scrolled through the encrypted files. "Oscar, Kiyan, and Kyran are his closest associates. If we can track them down, we might get closer to George." Elizabeth nodded, her eyes narrowing with determination as she scanned the screen. They had spent weeks gathering intel on George's minions, piecing together fragments of information to map out their movements and activities. "Let's start with Oscar," Elizabeth suggested, urgency lacing her tone. "He's the enforcer. If anyone knows where George is hiding, it's him." Gabriella agreed, her fingers flying across the keyboard as she accessed their encrypted communication channels. Every keystroke was calculated; any misstep could alert George and his cronies to their presence. Hours of meticulous surveillance finally paid off when they intercepted a coded message from Oscar arranging a meeting at a secluded warehouse on the outskirts of town. It was their opportunity to strike, to confront him and extract the information needed to dismantle George's operation. "We go in fast and quiet," Gabriella instructed, her voice steady as they prepared to move. "We can't let Oscar slip through our fingers." With their weapons holstered and resolve steeled, Gabriella and Elizabeth set out into the night. Their footsteps were silent against the pavement as they approached the rendezvous point. The warehouse loomed ahead, a shadowy fortress harbouring secrets and lies. As they neared, the muffled voices of Oscar and his cohorts echoed through the darkness. Gabriella signalled for Elizabeth to take cover while she positioned herself for the ambush. With a nod of understanding, they sprang into action. Their movements were swift and coordinated, taking advantage of the element of surprise. In moments, they had Oscar, and his henchmen incapacitated before they could react. "Where's George?" Gabriella demanded, her voice cold and commanding as she pinned Oscar to the ground. Oscar's eyes widened with fear, but he remained silent, his loyalty to George unyielding. He was willing to face certain defeat rather than betray his leader. Gabriella's determination was unrelenting. She pressed Oscar for answers, her resolve unwavering. "We know you have information. Talk, and maybe you'll get out of this alive." Oscar's silence persisted, but Elizabeth noticed a flicker of hesitation. She stepped forward, her voice calm but steely. "Oscar, you know George will cut you lose the moment you're no longer useful. Help us, and you might have a chance at survival." The tension hung thick in the air as Oscar weighed his options. Finally, his shoulders slumped in resignation. "Alright, I'll talk. But you have to promise protection." Gabriella exchanged a glance with Elizabeth, then nodded. "You have our word. Now, tell us everything." Oscar's resolve crumbled, and he began to divulge the details of George's operations. Each revelation was a piece of the puzzle, bringing them closer to their ultimate goal. As the night wore on, Gabriella and Elizabeth knew they had taken a crucial step forward in their quest to bring down George's empire. They left the warehouse with a new sense of purpose, armed with the information they needed to continue their fight. George's network was beginning to unravel, and they were determined to see it through to the end.
