48 Back in the car again, with ugly, boring, grass-bordered road passing by while I ground my brain gears. I retrieved my scratched, backup sunglasses from my glovebox, my good ones having vanished with Addy during the hospital drama. I was all for investigative epiphanies—hell, who wasn’t? Doug from self-defense class probably thought I had them every day. But as shiny as my most recent one was, did it hold up?
