Scott wasted no time rushing down to the hospital in the company of Cora and the baby. He broke out in cold sweat as soon as they were allowed to go into the doctor's office.
While he looked nervous, Cora had a faint smile on her face. The baby was nestled on her bosom as she stared at the doctor's face.
The doctor took out an envelope from his drawer. "I didn't expect you both to come so soon. Anyway, here is the result of the paternity test."
After yanking the envelope away, Scott flipped it open and took out the document. He skimmed through it as his eyebrows knitted in confusion. "I don't understand what it says, doc. Am I the baby's father or not?"
The doctor glanced at Cora for a second. Then, he cleared his throat and replied, "Mr. Brown, you are the father!"
