Chapter Eleven
THE HELICOPTER LANDED IN BROOKLYN and Evie was grateful to have solid ground under her feet again. Even Cara looked a little green when she climbed through the doors. Max and Connor whispered to Hawk.
'Rebel soldiers have attacked the city,' she said. 'Keep the chopper on standby. If we're going into the bowels of New York, I'm not going to go back to headquarters without anything to report.'
'Yes ma'am.' Max relayed the instructions to the pilot.
'Intelligence suggests the Genics reside in what was once Brooklyn.' Connor brought up a map. 'Thirty blocks away towards the East.'
'And the chopper can't get us any closer?' Hawk asked.
'It'll get fried in the Dead Zone,' Connor answered.
'Then looks like we're walking. You two are up front,' she told Cara and Evie.
