The voice revealed itself as my wolf, explaining Eliza is from a supernatural realm hidden from everyone who didn’t belong. The voice told her that she was not entirely human, that she was in fact a werewolf. The shock and disbelief melted away into acceptance as the voice guided her through her newfound abilities and nature. Eliza was part of a pack, a family she had never known.
All her wolf knows is that they come from the Emerald Moon Pack. The pack was powerful and ancient, but for some reason her biological parents didn’t think she would be safe there, so in an effort to keep her safe they gave her up for adoption and hid her scent so no one could tell she wasn’t human. They placed her with a family from the area, so when the time came she would be near her pack and others like her, with the hope that the danger she faced would be gone by her 18th birthday. However, Marygold didn’t know if that danger still existed or if they were safe.
Eliza’s first transformation was a revelation, an awakening. Her senses sharpened, her instincts becoming acute, and a profound sense of self washed over her. It was an incredible experience, bringing her a sense of belonging she had yearned for her entire life. Realization dawned on her she’s changed, different, better, as she stares at her wolf.
The voice finally revealed its name. Marygold was pure silver. The definition of beauty.
